that is where my indecision lies. full exhaust or slip on. either way it will be Jaxon getting the coin.

Can I just thank all for input. Why have there been deviations from original Akra Topic? It has put me off I am sorry. I intend biting bullet and purchase anyway locally. As I say thank you for starting thread.

for those who have communicated with Akra, any plans for a full system in the future?

I am amazed that the slip on for the S10 is as pricey as it is. I destroyed the Full Ti system Evo can and it was $550 for just the can, where a slip on for in the upper $300's.

I was never a fan of slip ons, as it seems as though the real gains are made at the headers (other than weight savings).

Ive personally spoke to all the folks at Akrapovic, Leo Vince, Remus, about a header.. They just don't seem to have interest. The ARROW is a nice unit and works very well. There are differences with all the mufflers as, price, weight, sound, length, inside tube {the tube that runs down the inside of the muffler} ID, power, Etc....... Mufflers (can) for this bike typically run from about $380-700 +
Ive seen them all, installed them all, ridden them all... If anyone has any questions feel free to write or call anytime...

With a header system what else is required to make it work properly? O2 sensor cheats? Power Commander?

I guess what I'm asking is how much extra is required to go with a full system?

I've never ventured beyond the slip on realm.

I think to answer your question about the topic deviating has to do with a group buy not saving anyone money. Group buys are exactly that. A way in which multiple people create buying power by consolidating their order into one purchase at a better discount than where you could buy it anywhere else. If you could just go online and buy the same pipe for less, where is the benefit.

Yea, I agree its not earth moving.. I could go into a long 'business' explanation but I will spare everyone:)... Akrapovic doesn't like to put the deals together period.
In response to another post, up the page: These large volume 'discount stores' are notorious for underselling many places because of the volume they buy.. (that's great if you have a few million dollars to invest in volume) They are the "walmart".. It also very much has the walmart effect in this industry, and this thread just proves it. The walmart effect kills the local mom and pop places because there is no loyalty and people will run to walmart over shopping with the small guys over $10. It just drives the little guys out of business. For instance, there is one part I offer. When I sell it I loose about $2-3 bucks when the sale is done. There are people on the net that sell this part for less than I can buy it for??? How does this work??? These places have volume deals worked out and the manufactures have no scruples. I offer this part and loose money in hopes that people like the service they received and they will come back... Its very hard to pay the bills when you loose money in this business.... The few extra dollars a part might cost being spent at the little shop will help keep the doors open... Other wise you can save $10 and give your business to walmart ! Im sure they need the business.
We are always here to try and help. If anyone needs anything feel free to give us a call and we will be happy to assist you in any way. Thanks

Jaxon, please in no way take anything said here in your corner. Everybody here, and that includes me, have upmost respect for you and your business and appreciate everything you do here in providing great service.
If Akrapovic doesn't like to sell their product, that is just fine. They can take those slip-ons and slip them in... Lets skip profanity.
Many companies act as if they are doing you a favor by taking your money. That is why I didn't get BMW. That is why I will never buy those panniers, that I was very interested in.
The only reason I got that $500 jacket it's because it was on sale for $192.
I was honestly expecting price to be on par with LeoVince, which is $550... Oh well.

Well,
I wanted to chime in on this because I think the pissing and moaning about the price is a two part problem. The first part is that there are always people who want others to think they are big rollers and that they are going to spend some large about of money doing this or that blah blah blah...yeah, they have no intention but will let the person know that they are charging too much or that they can get a better deal somewhere else. We get them all the time at the shop. Second, everyone wants the best but few are willing to pay for it. The parts don't have that much margin. The Yamaha dealer that I work with through the shop I work at would give us a price of $826, I would get a better deal in the $7xx( I don't remember what he said exactly), and their price through Parts Unlimited is so close to the "Walmart" that they would never, and I want to make this clear, NEVER sell these. I told him the situation and he said he would be giving them away at "Walmart's" price and that our group deal is ridiculously low and that the person running it couldn't be making much. He said he honestly didn't know how we could be doing a group buy at $699. Now, I can get a two bro's exhaust for much less. Hell, I can construct my own, I have done it multiple times. I would rather have an exhaust that I don't have to think about, don't have to work on, don't have to repair. If you want an Akrapovic for free, make one from card board and write akra on it.

Don't like Walmart, nor the Walmart affect in any business. Everybody wants the lowest price, top-drawer service, and perfect quality - most aren't wiling to pay for it. Then there's endless wailing and gnashing of teeth about the one that's missing (especially on the internet).

What most people want is to get what they pay for and not pay boutique prices for average products.

Edit: I've purchased their products for a few bikes over the years and the quality and performance gains have been very hit or miss. $699 is a pretty good deal when it comes to Akrapovic prices and I commend you guys for making the effort.

I don't know how the 2bro's muffler sound on the Tenere, but had one on an FJR and it was LOUD. Akra mufflers are as good as they get and the price quoted pretty close to the best I've seen. I went with the full Arrow system, headers are excellent, muffler could have been, but they welded a small mount on the side for the stock heat shield. I was trying to get rid of the Transformer muffler not keep it
