A very high mileage 80/20 tire is the Dunlop Trailmax Mission.

For reference: a set of Shinko 805s, I'll have them done by 8k kms or so. The Dunlops, 22k. That's mostly 2 lane roads, lots of chip seal and gravel. Maybe 15% highway speeds.

On my previous GSA, TKC 80s were 10k a set.

Your local riding conditions will change those numbers, I'm sure. I average 40k/year riding, so I kinda go through a lot of tires.

I'd go with the RA3, that will be my next set of tires in a few weeks. Seems the main difference between them is the RA3 has solid tread down the center of the rear. I believe the RA3 came out in 2017 and around then won sport touring tire competition by a motorcycle magazine in Germany call Motorrad. Their test seem very thorough! Then, I think the TA3 came out in 2019. Not sure if they could make a 90/10 tire better than their sport touring tire in 2 years. I think you'll be happy with either tire. Also, here in the States, they come with 3 years roadside assistance

Tyres certainly seem to behave very differently either side of the pond. Our twistier roads and shorter distances between most towns and villages maybe? We possibly do more accelerating and braking per mile than in America. Although the worst tyre I’ve ever used, as in miles to worn out, was a Metzeler Z6 on my Pan that only did a bit over 2500miles, but all of those miles were in the Highlands in Scotland. Too soft on the flanks, a well loaded Pan two up for most of the time, torn to shreads on scotlands shell gripped bends;):D
Another thought is whether they’re the same compounds? Does America get harder compounds to deal with the higher average temperatures? 30B862DC-0801-428A-AA02-F29A711C08A8.jpeg
I chose the Trail attacks over Road attacks for my S10 based on feedback here that the Roads just don’t last as long due mainly to less depth of rubber to start with.

. . . . , was a Metzeler Z6 on my Pan that only did a bit over 2500miles, . . . .
I used the Z6 on the RT, and loved them. When we switched to the ST1300 (Pan), we couldn't get them in the size needed. Took a chance on the BT-23, and ended up liking them. You're probably correct about the road type influencing the wear. Where I live the only place to lean a bike over is at intersections. Our roads have a zero fun factor. So, I go around corners as fast as I can, and accelerate as much as I can while leaned over. It helped keep the A41 round, but my current Road Smarts apparently are slow to warm up and are forcing me to ride more vertical. Yeah, our temps are cooler, but after 25 miles, they shouldn't be sliding like they are. Will not be using them again.
