Thanks all!
Got a few updates.
About the bike. It was bought used and the previous owner had unfortunately for him, fortunately for me, low sided it. No mechanical damage but the tank was dented and scraped as well as the left side crash bars and caribou case.
The price was extremely fair so I made about a 1200 mile Iron Butt round trip in the XJ to go get her.
I fixed up the crash bars with JB weld, lots of sanding and flat black paint. Good as new! Caribou case, lots of sanding and a heat gun made them look, pretty good. You could tell if you looked close but it definitely was not worth replacing.
The tank could have been left alone but I really like yellow and this was a good excuse to go in that direction.
The bike really didn't need to much. It came with an ohlins shock, parebellum screen and full luggage.
First real change I made was a Russel Day long. I get a standing 10% discount for buying way too many seats from them and I bought a $100 gift certificate for $25 off the ADV flea market. The seat is really awesome and I can't imagine riding long distances without one.
While the seat was away I figured that I would do lots of stuff to the bike including the paint job, ecu flash, valve adjust and electrical farkles. Bad idea, bike wouldn't run when I put it all back together. Best I can figure the painter messed with the fuel pump in the tank and I spent 2-3 weeks tearing the bike apart and putting it back together thinking I f'd up the valve adjust. Long story but if want to a good read and are considering doing your own valves I recommend it. Lot's of good info that came from the site experts trying to help my dumb ass. ::008::

So the seat is pretty sweet. For those of you who asked, yes the rear does seem to be higher than stock. In the pics the front is in the low position and the back is about 7" higher than the front. Not really a substitute for a backrest but it does give some support for your butt. Maybe a crackrest would be a more accurate term.
People have also asked about the hitch. As far as I know there are still no commercially available hitches. This was made by forum member Z06. Price was fair, workmanship excellent. Trailer pulls great.
Also got the flash done by avc8130 ::008::
I moved the caribou trunk to the trailer tongue and put my old Givi on the bike.
Other add ons were the madstad bracket, extra brake lights, an old free pair of LED driving lights and a 6" Rigid combo.
All in all you would be surprised how little I have invested in the bike.
