I am getting ready to replace my bent OEM bars. This would eliminate having to drill and tap Pro Tapers.

Whats the difference? Wider? Higher? Sweep?

Looks to not be as tall of a bar as the Tenere... I need/want the height because I stand up so much... But I bet the hand position would feel great....

I can't explain the FJ bars. But they feel great. 6k km on them now, and no complaints. Rox risers are always the answer.
I have 3.5" on my tenere, coupled with some very comfy low rise renthals

It'd depend on diameter, which I think is bigger for aluminum Gen2 than the steel Gen1. Not positive, if somebody else has the exact diameter though.

The top triple clamps are very different, since the Gen2 has the rubber vibration dampers.

Not counting Harleys and some cruisers which have 1" bars, handlebars are either 7/8" OD or 1-1/8" OD regardless of material. ANY 1-1/8" handlebar will work on a Gen 2 as long as you don't mind installing new cables if needed, drilling holes for the switch clusters, and modifying as needed, for bar ends.

True and I was thinking the steel were the 7/8".

Turns out both Generations of OEM bars are 1-1/8" center and 7/8" at the grips.

Search works and this is being merged with the existing diameter thread.

There is also the big handlebar thread for options. Note that for those unable to drill new alignment holes for switch clusters the descriptions about how there IS a difference between the holes in the Gen1 and Gen2 bars.
