Well, I gotta be honest. Color matters more than I ever thought...
Had a couple of diesels trucks in the yard that were being underutilized. So I take em down to my old time Ford buddy to see if I can get a fair deal for them. We fought for a while, cuz he just loves to!
When he got close enough, I said yes and he wanted to know what I was trading them for. Long story, but I was looking for a lighter family ride. Comfort, not power for work. So I decide on an F150. Had 6 or 7 colors to choose from and the wife overrode me (white) and wanted a silver. We compromised on a black one.
WTH?
I don't even drive the thing and it gets dirty. I could wash it and STILL not drive it and it got dirty. The dew made it dirty.
First payment came due and I drove to the dealer and whined and cried about how many times I had washed the dang Black truck and I haven't driven it.
He just laughed.
I said, "you aren't listening to me. I can't wash the thing all the time. I don't even care if my trucks\bikes are dirty, but in Black it BEGS to be clean.
He laughed again.
So I did the math in my head. Estimated $30 a month to keep it clean using MY elbow grease. 30 x 60 = $1800.00
So I tried one more time. I told him the math. Said I would give him $1800 for a white paint job.
That got his attention. He asked if I was serious. I asked him how long have you known me?
Took the white one home. Didn't have a payment due for 47 days. So I went 90 days with no payment.
Guess I like white. My wife says I am boring and predictable. After 30 years, she would know.
So maybe I SHOULDN'T go see the white Tenere?
