Definitely a dealer issue. I called my dealer in early Feb to say I might want one, please start looking. On Feb 18th I called to say I do want another Tenere. He called me on Feb 21 to say come pick it up. There are bikes out there, have to wonder why your dealer can't get his hands on one.

Re: deliveries / costs

I saw my dealer on Saturday and asked if was going to order more Teneres since he got me mine. He told me that on the Yamaha auction site dealers were paying over $500 more than he paid just to order and wait for his stocking order. He also told me there is always freight added to that. You sure don't want that added to your purchase price. There was a Raven 2 hours away, but I waited on my local dealer. Richards Honda Yamaha, super guys.

Well, you guys are right!

I got into it a bit yesterday with my dealer who said he's attempted to get me a bike but there are only "6 Ravens in the dealer system in the US", and he contacted one who wasn't interested in a dealer trade.

So I cancelled my order after advising that I had found one at a dealer 30 miles away from me....

Good news for me is I will finally have an S10 in my garage TONIGHT!

I have a workbench full of farkles ready to go, and it looks like the rain might stop for a while on Friday so I can scrub in the tires before I take to the wet weather!

Great News Dave!!!! Glad to hear the forum has proven its knowledge once again!!! Hope you got a good deal. Wow, after your brief explanation, sounds like your sales guy didn't want to sell very bad and not get you a bike!!! In this market, that is unbelievable!!! ::022::

Well, the sales guy at my original dealer is the manager and he did give me a VERY attractive price... maybe that was the problem.

My new deal is a couple hundred dollars more but I got a real break on the Panniers too, so I am very happy with the deal and professionalism of the staff at Power Yamaha KTM in Salem.

I guess I just needed you guys to give me a "push"!

Damn, I feel like that girl in the Mervyn's commercial, standing in front of the door chanting "Open open open open..."

I have a friend buying my Strom. He's picking it up on Sunday. Found out yesterday that my Tenere' has been
released to financing and should be delivered to COS next week. So, against my better judgement and superstitions,
I'll be bikeless for a few days... <shudder>

open open open open open.......

I had a dealer years back pull the same stunt on me . Give me a quote for a bike 5 mo's off then when the time came I think he realized he could get more and my bike never
showed up .Anyway my bike showed up last friday and I couldn't be happier . There were other bikes in my area but I'm sticking to the dealer that sticks with me when I have a problem.
Riders Edge is a mom & pop strictly Yamaha dealer . Its like a harley dealer for yamaha ( all other brands suck ) . You gotta love them .

no kidding they are called Rider Edge? That's the same as the HD rider safety program? Figured that name would be trademarked.
