Yeah, the "fees" consisted of the typical bs freight/prep fee of $399 plus about $145 for docs, tags, etc. But i've seen some dealers who charge near $600 for the freight/set-up fee so I didn't feel too gouged.

So, if that was a PDP bike, I guess it has been there a little while so they were probably ready to see her go. Anyone know the circumstances around 'my bike'? Works for me ! They also threw in 15% off accessories placed at time of order with the deal. I grabbed a few things. I went with the Yamaha panniers for now....with full plans to go Jessies down the road. I figure I'll use these for now, take advantage of the discount and then sell them off and upgrade.

During my research, I did see several Ohio dealers also have S10's marked as low as $12.2-$12.5. On cycle trader, I think 44 bikes popped up in my search within 400 miles. I just happened to walk in and stumble on the bike at Blackman's. Meant to be..me thinks. Thanks everyone. ::003::

You guys got a great forum here..just loaded with info. I'm very much looking forward to interacting with everyone.

I never know quite what to make of the freight/prep fees. Some folks say they are pure BS, while dealers will insist they're for real.

When I bought my last bike, I agreed to the price, tax, and doc fees and ordered the bike. The price was REALLY good, and I was very happy they didn't try to throw in a freight/prep fee. When I went to pick up the bike, the invoice DID show a separate freight/prep fee, but it was part of the price we had already agreed upon and was not additional. I wondered then and I still do about why they did that, and it seems to lend some credence to a manufacturer mandated freight/prep.

Maybe some of the folks here with real dealer sales experience can throw in their 2 cents.
