Had some fun this weekend adding some daytime running lights. I still need to finish wiring then up and need to get the right mounting screws but I think they came out great. I will get some pics up tomorrow out in the day light.

I agree, if you do not have lights mounted in that space it looks like something is missing in the gap. A blank plate could help with the front's look.

Looks like nice quality work in the project. What kind of power do those light put out?

Glad you guys like it :)

The light bar fills the goofy space Yamaha left empty nicely. It looks great and was a fun project to do. If I had a shop like Jaxon I could reproduce everything very easy and would do a couple things to make if even nicer.

As for the lights they are a knock off of the Hella LEDay Flex lights I found on Ebay. They are really bright and will add a nice bit of safety to the bike. YOU WILL SEE ME :D

Here is the link for the lights:

Do you have any pictures or description of how you mounted the plate? It looks like you used existing holes, but can you give some detail about spacers, brackets, or any bits not showing in the front.

Thanks

I don't right now but I can get you some when I change the temp bolts out to the permanent ones.

You are correct though, I am utilizing the existing holes. The top bolts you see go straight through the "higher" existing holes. I have a spacer cut from tubing that goes between the light plate and that hole to fill the gap. For the bottom connection I modified two steel L brackets I got at Lows. I cut them to the size I needed then pounded them into the angle that matched the angle on the light bracket. I then drilled and taped them. I'm using 10-32 button head hardware painted black.

Very nicely done. I'd buy a bracket if you decide to crank out a few.

Thank you thank you thank you! You liking this means a lot as I have a lot of respect for your skills my friend.

As for the wiring. Turn the key to on and the lights are on. I wanted running lights so I didn't want an on off switch.

Hey, Jaxon - ever think about mass-producing a filler for that void? The Touratech is fine, but you still have a giant hole there. Something like what Jaime did (void filler with a screen) to his would be awesome if it were in all black... I'd be a player in a hearbeat if it hit a $250-ish price point... Don't know if it would be worth your time to fool with, but I would commit up-front if you do it. (I hate that void and don't need lights there)...

I'm a talentless hack when it comes to stuff like this. So much respect for you guys who can dream and create this stuff... Ugh ::010::
