I just picked mine up this afternoon with 0 miles on it. The dealer got it from the trucking company this morning (it's been in their warehouse since Thursday ::) ).

I had a nice (but hot) 35 miles ride home, now it's time to add the farkles. I think I have the only Tenere in the West Michigan area.

I was ;D the whole way home!!

Ha! I've been called worse. ;)

Don't have my Super Ten yet but hope to get the "the truck's here" call today..... 8)

Apparently Oklahoma is so hot right now the truck drivers are scared to drive here. Seems nearly every other state in the union has their bikes but us. It's a cool 102 today but it's supposed to be 108 on Tuesday and Wednesday. That should be a fun ride home. :-\

Quick ride of this very comfy bike, I really like it. Good power, comfy seating postion, good brakes. Wasp windshield brackets are a MUST. I found smooth airflow, but I feel heat on my left leg. I may stick some a/c foam insulation between the left fairing and frame to stop it from coming through that crack to my leg. 157 miles, gotta eat and get back out there. I like it so much I believe I will be selling the 950sm.

I just got back from picking mine up. They were prepping Randy's and next would be Steve's (not on the forum). That will be all 3 for this dealership.

Good stuff Doc- they are probably tired of me calling them. I did get the poster today from D & H so that's a start :D
I am hoping to pick mine up next Thursday or Friday at the latest but that depends on delivery and set-up. Let me know if I can help with your trip at all.
they asked me to fly into Huntsville, but they offer few flights from here. They said they would only pick me up after hours in I flew in Bham. Not sure when I can get it now, I wish they wanted my DL for trade.

6 hour ride to the Talimena Scenic Drive, last 2 hours was 100F. Mena was 108F just before going up the mountain, 95F on top. Had been running the windscreen in high pos, had to stop and move to low position when it go to about 93 or higher. 900 miles, been dropping the hammer for some short spurts up to triple digits, motor is strong!

For me the suspension was stiff, I backed off the preload on the forks to about 6-1/2, (stock is 5-1/2), and also backed off the compression and rebound probably 6 or 8 clicks. I have been adjusting for the past 2 days, and finally got it like I like it. Pulled the forks up 1/2" to quicken the steering a tad.

When you guys try to adjust your lights, you are gonna have a trip. Need a dentist mirror and a 8mm socket with 3" extension and ratchet. Don't think Yamaha mentions how to do it in the MOM, but it is in the service manual with pictures of the locations.

P.S. Running 70mph in the 100F, engine temps 176, NICE!

Awesome Simmons1,

You probably put about 200 just bringing it home from out there in Longview. O0 I'll need to put my first 600 on quickly as well. I'm taking the bike on a 6k ride starting the 20th of August.

At the dealer picking it up and ready to ride with wife camera in hand. It was a long road hanging on for this bike but well worth it. :)
