Finally....picking it up tomarrow in Chico. Was beginning to feel left out. Actually this only started a week or so ago but man it seems like a long time

Was hoping for it to be tomorrow but the technician is off for a funeral and off for the weekend. I have an appointment to pick her up Wednesday. As some consolation, I did get my letter from Yamaha telling me we would get our bikes in August

I'm off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of Yamaha. its 5am, dealer opens their doors at 8:30 and I have a 4 hour cage ride to get there. forecast is not great, warm and wet by the looks, but I don't care about that. in 5 hours, I will be riding the blue beast, maybe towards home, maybe not.

I don't have mine yet either...but I was originally planning on going the last week of August after the last delivery letter, so I'm just going a few days earlier.

My dealer called me with a VIN number this morning (147) and informed me that mine arrived late yesterday afternoon. They couldn't tell me if it will be ready for pickup today or when they reopen next Tuesday.

Edit: I should not have used the word "couldn't", they were simply unable to specify when I could pick it up. With it being a new model bike they want to take thier time and be certain the bike is set up properly, which is greatly appreciated on my end.

Picked up today, thought it would show up later this month as I was a late March '11 order.

How do I like it? Anyone wanna buy a Concours?

On a side note, tried to add it to my Progressive policy today, they told me it wasn't in their system and they "couldn't guarantee coverage" until possibly Monday. I tried a couple other insurance companies as I wanted to ride today, but finally, on my 4th company (Geico) they agreed to insure it, even though they didn't show this model in their database yet either. Anyone else been having this problem?

Mine is insured thru Costco/Ameriprise but the motorcycles are written thru Progressive. No problem last week. They found it in their system and gave me quote of $142/yr full coverage.

I did note that all three people I spoke to at the three companies that 'failed' mentioned something about not having supervisors around on the weekend. Maybe that's all it was -- the lower-level people manning the phones on the weekends don't have the authority to make decisions on coverage on a bike they're not familiar with. Either that or it IS in the system, but they just didn't know how to locate it. I was patient, but a little frustrated I have to say; wasted a good hour of ride time on the phone. :'(
