I just had my Denso IU24 Iridium plugs removed and swap back to stock plugs. The IU24 is not suitable, performs worse off, and takes longer to start. I would not recommend Denso IU24 iridium for the S10. The Projected tip of the stock plug was specifically designed for the S10. If there is any equivalent replacement, be sure that it has a Projected tip. After swapping back to stock plugs, I noticed the Fuel consumption is improving.
All my current car, and previous bikes were using Iridiums and I get nothing but pluses. It was sad for me that it just didn't work out for the S10. I had these IU24 purchased from the US and brought over to me by a work colleague on his business trip to Malaysia. (Too many counterfeit iridiums in my country)
So, I had a whatsapp group of S10 owners in Malaysia and notified them about my findings. Back 1 step, I made some research on NGK other projected tips plugs and came upon a CPR8EA-9, used in a low cost moped (Yamaha LC135). Projected tip, yes, but is without a terminal nut. Then I came across an upgrade to that plug, Platinum tip, CPR8EAGP-9, and NGK called it G-Power series. So, I just told the guys about G-Power. 2 of them was in the plug service timeline and took on my findings and became guinea pigs. This Platinum does not have the terminal nut as well. You will need to use the terminal nut from your existing plug. Because of this, this plug has been out of the S10 radar.
Now, here is what they told me. The 'T' mode behaves like a 'S' mode. No other issues found. Being platinum, it should go 30 to 40k km easy. I am going to get a set next week and experience it for myself. Just thumbs up.
I helped this person to Sync his TB, Reference screw turn out 1/2 turn from fully closed in, and then CO adjustments to +8 for both Cylinders (K&N air filter and Akra exhaust), now he just could not wipe the smile off. Never seen him changed from subtle to like a happy kid with all the excitement. According to him, better response and the power delivery is linear. He rode 400km just to had me helped him sync and CO. (he also had plugs changed earlier, handle bar alignment job done at a workshop with low labor rates). I used a home made manometer made of aquarium air hose and fill with ATF oil. His bike was off by about 6 inch between the 2 throttles.
