Procaliber

I missed out on the low price party but still not too bad.
Wow! Good price! Best we've seen since the price correction.

I know what you mean but You know when most of us ordered early we didn't know if Yamaha was helping everyone or if it was an incorrect price input. Well..... we all know now it was a incorrect price input but Yamaha stood by that posted price for the folks that ordered early....... so then ............... ::008::'s up to them too!

Not many manufacturers would do what Yamaha did. That's a cool thing in my book.

For the last over 45 years I have dealt with Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Honda and Yamaha was by far more interested in making the customer happy and going the extra mile to do so hands down and with the multiple dealerships I worked with. I switched to them in racing in 1976 and never looked back.

But may be that's just me

As the miles have increased on my S10, I'd become more an more annoyed by the vibrations that now appear at motorway speeds (3-3,500rpm) and make my hands go numb. More recently, I'd also noticed that at tickover, there is a slight clattering noise coming from the right side of the engine, that disappears when the clutch is pulled in.

Having read the favourable results of the clutch basket swap on this forum, I decided to give the idea some further examination.

I was very disappointed to find that the price of parts on this side of the pond were a little prohibitive, as it worked out that it'd cost around £590 ($962) for the basket, retaining nut, gasket and delivery. I then looked at the prices my American cousins are paying and found that buying the same components from the USA would only cost £167.98 ($274.16). Then adding shipping from the USA at £118.41 ($193.25), UK duty and taxes, £81.23 ($132.58). This was beginning to look far more reasonable!

So, all in all, it adds up that even with the addition of draconian British VAT and import duty, i'd still be £222.14 ($363) better off importing the bits from the other side of the bloody planet. Does that make any sense to anyone out there? ??? ??? ???

Everything makes sense to me....

Except the $193 shipping to the UK from the States. I regularly ship clutch baskets to Great Britain and I charge $67. I imagine some vendor here in the States could sell you the new basket and ship it for around the $67 I charge.

Damn! $126………. that's a hell of a difference but i'm still "quids in" compared to buying in the UK or Europe. May send Stadium Yamaha an e-mail and ask why they charge so much though.

Like a bonehead, I failed to order the gasket when I order my clutch basket from Stadium. ::010:: So I ordered it seperately. Stadium charged me $15 to ship the gasket - and I'm local. I think they need to negotiate a better deal with UPS. Their shipping costs seem to be out of line with other online retailers. But their prices on parts are more than competitive. I guess its give and take.

You know the package ships to their hub then back to you, even if it's across the street.

Be just his luck, and mine, to be the 1% of gaskets that tear. :'(

I've had my cover off twice, and both times had the gasket tear, no matter how carful I was. Portions of the gasket would always tear away and stay stuck to the case, or the cover. For less than 20 bucks, it's worth having the new gasket on hand.

That's them.
Leave it in the cart a day and they will email you a discount code for 5% off. Code when I ordered was SAVENOW, not sure how often they change the code.
::008::
Thanks. Since I live in Washington, sales tax [to the tune of 9.2%] will be added to the purchase. Looks like I'm going with Stadium.

Mine just shipped from RMATV.

Ordered on 20 June

Shipped on 12 Sep

Cost $30.76

They gave me B/O ship dates of 7/7, 7/29, 9/22 and just last week saying it would be shipped on 10/20. Imagine my surprise when I got a email saying it shipped over a month earlier than their last estimate. I will say that RMATV is very very good about communicating.

Installed my basket today, as well as for another local Tenere owner. He rode his, I didn't yet. Says like many that it is way better. I best go for a quick run down the road tonight. I am sure I will be surprised like all the others.

I got the 10/20 email as well July 4th order.. ::002::
Flushed my clutch today noticed again dirty fluid and seems like something is not right with the clutch lever action (sloppy feel) I noticed small air bubbles coming out of the flush valve after i got all the air out and tightened it, like the valve is not seating closed.
I will take it to yamaha and get them to look at it under Warranty..
