Nice reviews, Tweak. I second the disdain for the Portrait video, though. ::010::
While it is exclusive for iPhones, the
Topeak Ridecase is the best design of moto phone mount I've run accross. It is a two-part deal with a case for your phone, combined with a handlebar mount for your bike. As a result, the Ridecase has a physical "snap-in" connection from Phone to bike: no springs to worry about when that pothole sneaks up on you. The system was original designed for bicycles, but it works well on motos, in the car, and for an every-day-carry.
The Ridecase's handlebar mount also rotates from landscape (GPS) to portrait, which is nice if you have an application for it (texting? Poke-Grom Go? NO!
). I've had a few minor offs (fucking ruts!) on my S10, and my phone has never wavered on this thing.
The case that goes on the phone is also slim enough for pocket usage, but still provided enough protection for every-day drops. Topeak also snuck in a kick-stand so your phone can stand up on it's own. Pretty slick.
They do offer a waterproof phone case, but I prefer to toss my phone into my tank bag if it starts to get wet. $1000 phone trusted to a $60 waterproof case? No, thanks.
