Time for a new topic. After months of waiting, some of us have been privileged to receive out bikes. In Whitehorse, there are 4 bikes on the go. The 5th is out of town and will pick his up Monday.

Troll and did a 200 mile or so loop today. I think ecstatic might be a bit of an understatement, but you get my drift. A really nice bike. Awesome. Troll and I held the first ever North American Tenere riders' coffee stop this morning. Jake's Corner. Then kicked it on to Tagish, Carcross and back to Whitehorse. Troll just picked his up this morning. It had 0 km on it when we headed out. He has a few pics he will share with you later on probably tonight.

Any other Canucks out there, chime in when your bikes come in. No on will be disappointed. R

Isn't Nick Sanders going to blow by you guys up there in the Yukon. How cool would it be for Canadian Force Tenere to meet up with him. Somehow it seems fitting that North America's first Teneres are in the frozen tundra.

You know, these guys riding around and making trips doesn't bother me as much as the location! They are several hundred miles above this blooming heat dome!

Just reading the reports, makes me feel it is time to sell the Multi. LOL

How cool would it be for the 4 Yukon Tenere Amigo's to be there waiting as a support cheering section when Nick comes screaming through town?? Wouldn't he be surprised tomorrow. Rem, Troll, you guys have a plan for anything like this? If we had our Tenere's and he was coming through our hood, we would try!!!! Good luck!!!

Jeff, Zoom in on his Spot map. It looks like he is moving along at a good clip to me.

pretty hard to know when Nick will roll through, otherwise I would be all over that. Mine has enough break-in to ride with him for a few hundred kliks. I doubt he is doing much over 200kph.
Go for it Troll :D :D

I wouldn't even be able to keep up with him, much less catch up to him. Nope. Not this old dog, and not this new bike. I'm quite happy to continue to live in my customary mediocre anonymity. Signed: Who ??

Well I envy you guys getting the bike before we do in the USA. But you really deserve it since your riding season will be limited due to weather and snow later on. My riding on the east coast of NC will be all year long, so I'll catch up to you in miles and smiles in Oct, Nov. and Dec. I imagine.

You're right about that. I'll start putting my bike away next weekend. Drain the oil, stuff like that .. KIDDING. But in another month or so .......

I'm anxious to find out if its possible to switch the display unit between kph and mph. The UK manual I have says they can be changed by pressing the left set button for at least 2 seconds. Can you please check this out for me?
I just went out and tried that. Short answer: No. I tried several different ways but no luck. I would doubt that they would provide this option in Canada, but the U. S. bikes might have it. R

You would think, but Canada is locked into the metric system, so I guess they just don't think it is needed/wanted. It would certainly be a nice feature. For all I know, it's illegal here. It wouldn't surprise me to find that the U. S. bikes do have that feature. But then you'd think if they did, why not just use the same ones on the Canadian bikes ????/

I dunno ..... I ain't no Yamaha big dog so I don't get to decide. Gonna go for a little ride somewhere today. Sure is a nice bike. It is more comfortable than my ST1300. My butt likes it a lot. R

I have made many trips to Canada (and plan to continue to do so) and always have to rely on my GPS to convert to KPH. I used to have a Honda S2000 and it had the ability to switch it's digital speedometer KPH. Nice feature.

Interesting comment about the seat being more comfy than your ST1300. Are you running a stock seat on it?

Yes. Hard like rock. I have a fluffy sheep hide over it, and that helps quite a bit, but the Yamaha has a very soft seat. Very comfy. R

From the manual

To use the left and right buttons,
the key must be turned to “ON”,
except for the brightness mode.
For the U.K. only: To switch the
speedometer and odometer/tripmeter/
fuel consumption displays
between kilometers and miles,
press the left button for at least two
seconds.

Interesting this is not on CDN motorcyles and perhaps not EU bikes either. I would guess the instruments are all the same but the imperial measure feature has been disabled. Maybe the dealer can do the necessary software change or some 12 yr old can come up with a hack.
