Few days ago I finished up my fender eliminator... I like the way it turned out... I still have my pannier racks and can have them installed in less that five minutes for camp trips..

Don't mean to always act like a grump even though I am for the most part, but just for info why do guys want to remove the rear fender? I do more walking than riding, and look at 100s of motorcycles every day most days as I tromp along on 2 feet and see virtually zero motorcycles without the rear fender removed except Harleys that remove the mufflers instead as a way to modify the factory setup. Some gain to it, or just for looks? Seems kind of strange everyone wants a fender extender in the front, which I don't understand, then remove the rear, which I don't understand x2. ;D
I agree with your observations about the rear fender. I wouldn't dream of cutting mine off. Removing the fender kind of looks to my eye like a "custom cruiser" modification. I believe the rear fender serves a useful and functional purpose. I also have an extender on the front fender. I think it substantially cuts down on the amount of gunk sprayed up onto the sump. To each his own though. I personally would not buy a used bike that had been butchered in this fashion, but others may like the look.

Technically you guys are right... But sometimes cant leave well alone, I like to tinker. I like the 'rally' look and after taking off my pannier racks the fender look like a big thumb sitting out in the wind.. If I want to go back to the stock one its no problem, I know where another one is and can be installed in about 15 min... Just fun to mess with the bike and then go ride ! ::26::

BTW: I like it. Looks good. Brings me back to my sport bike days.

Any time I see a new bike I take a side picture and hack the fender and mirrors off so I can see just how cool the designers thought it could be BEFORE the DOT got a hold of it.
