Took off the front plastic exhaust cover (custom exhaust on now) and you have a great lift point to get it up on the center stand! ::015::

I use the rear passenger grab handle, putting all my weight on the centrestand lever and pulling the bike backwards rather than up. Am I doing it wrong? I'm a big chap so maybe that doesn't work for everyone.

I grab the leading edge of the muffler cut-out on the Jesse. Jesse rack when the bags are off. Not really so much to lift the bike, more to keep myself from pushing off and away from the bike while doing the deed. If you're slick you can give the bike a little rolling start to aid the momentum. I'm not slick, I just grunt a little from a dead stop. Is it Touratech that makes that fold out handle? Always thought that was a neat solution.
How hot does that grab point get after a couple hundred miles without any shielding?

I don't have the passenger grab handles ( :'() cause we don't get 'em on Euro non ES models! However I just put a couple of fingers in the small plastic tie down area of the OEM parcel shelf and lift the bike and up she comes! This bike is easy to put on the centre stand for me!

That's interesting - I have a UK 2013 World Crosser (crap name, nice bike) so obviously not ES, and that has grab handles. Are you saying they stopped fitting them as standard equipment when the ES came out in the EU?

Exactly! No center stand, no passenger grab rails, no rear rack, and a thinner passenger seat pad.

Sorry to make it more clear I should have stated Gen 2 2014 standard UK/EU bikes don't have grab handles from factory!

Thanks Dogdaze for partially clearing that up. I need to quantify my statement as per my reply above and further update the quoted reply from Dogdaze that Gen 2 2014 STANDARD (non ES) bikes equipment above are not fitted to UK/EU Gen 2 standard bikes. :-[

I think this thread is going off topic now as the OP was about exhaust silencer cover removal to aid lifting onto centre stand!

The grim reaper moderators will be along soon with that scythe and move this or maybe parts of it elsewhere! O:)

lets do this ::021::
