I have had a couple of times when on "leaping" onto the bike my jeans have gone over the stock part and almost over balanced, I am very wary of it happening now but would put an Altrider part on the list fo stop happening again

Look at the AltRider and Touratech versions and consider picking up some aluminum sheet and aviation snips and making up your own. Even if you buy good tools, it's cheaper than buying the nice options. That said, I just bought the AltRider ones when I first got my Super Ten, it was easy and they work great and look good too.

Any reviews?

Sure, I've had them on for 40k+ miles and like them a lot. My only gripe is the gap between the u-joint guard and the heat shield. My hydration hose has gotten in there and melted a couple of times.

I too was a victim of the boot guard fall. :-[ I was pulling into my shop standing on the pegs and caught my jeans pants leg on the left boot guard and couldn't get it off before I fell. I was able to catch the handlebar on a cabinet that kept me from going all the way over. I knew what happened and as soon as I got off I went in the house and ordered a Touratech boot guard. Easy install and no more problems. May have to look at the right side but didn't think it would be a problem. :-\

I installed a Alt Rider U-Joint guard as well. I will second what liguorien said about providing a little more room. Before, the inside of my left ankle would rub on the stock guard enough that I would notice and be annoyed by it. That's no longer an issue with the Alt Rider bit.
