Ha anyone found a nice tight fitting ear bud that fits comfortably under a full face helmet? Not really interested in modifying my helmets (have a few) with sena etc but would like something so i can listen to my music (occasionally) and hear the voice prompts from my gps - I have a pair of jabra sport elites but they kill me when trying to put on my lid.

All suggestions appreciated :)

It's been my experience that the ones that fit in your ears comfortably when you're puting the helmet on, don't sound that good. It's a give & take. I'm a fan of SENA, music & coms. If fits well without any helmet mods. I haven't had any issues with it. The battery does seem to not be holding a charge as long as it did when new. It's five years old. That my only experience(s), sorry.

My experience is the same as Sierras. The in helmet speakers are way more comfortable for me than ear buds. FYI most states ban wearing ear buds in both ears. Oddly enough ear plugs are ok…go figure

I use in helmet speakers AND ear plugs. Comfortable and effective

I had a Cardo G4 system, but found with my foam ear plugs I couldn't get satisfactory volume. Maybe the newer ones are better? I only use for music and gps directions, no comms. Also don't use the ear buds all the time. Some days I just use the foam plugs and I alternate on long saddle days. Sometimes I just want quiet!

I have an Interphone F4 which is about 10 years old now. I don’t listen to music and only use it for GPS directions. It has the in helmet speakers and I wear earplugs too.

I use £80 wired buds with a Sena smh10. Sounds very good. You can't get them anymore which is a shame as they are small and low profile. What i would say is if you have a flip front it's so much easier to get on without disturbing them. Ones with Bluetooth built in seem too big to me.

I have had both of these and they are good.
I always use the triple flange tips aswell. I put a tiny bit of glue on them to keep them in place.

Thanks for all the quick replies folks! Looks like I'm heading down the cardo / sena / etc road now - orrrrrrrr try a flip front helmet (i had thought of that but didn't wanna drop $$$ as an experiment - Scottish heritage ;)

I would suggest Cardo over Sena!! Have used both systems and been much happier with Cardo!! Mechanically Sena seems a bit better engineered (more solid mounting, etc), but Cardo is better technically and offers 2 or 3 years warranty and a repair service after the warranty has expired, Sena offers a 1 year warranty and no repairs after warranty.

Added to the Cardo system a true helmet audio revelation. (Not in any way connected to the brand, just sharing experience)

A mate uses regular wired buds and plugs them into a Bluetooth receiver that's paired to his phone, it opens up a choice of buds that are slimline.

The other thing to be aware of is using a neck tube and only pulling it half way over your head, pull the front of it down so its under your chin, it'll cover your ears and hold the buds in place while you pull your lid on.

google low profile bluetooth earbuds. might find some that will work. Some looked really small. I wear an Arai and have been using jaybird x4 for years. It's kinda tricky gettin it on. I got a cardo and used it for about 100 miles and ditched it. Too much wind and engine noise with speakers for me.
