I store the bike in my unheated garage, plugged into a battery tender. This worked fine for 15 years of owning Gold Wings. April this year, after last winter’s hibernation for my 2018 S10, the bike wouldn’t start. I had it towed to my local shop, and they installed the upgraded Yuasa YTZ14S. Bike ran like a charm all year.
It’s now been hibernating this winter only about three weeks. Started it once two weeks ago. However, now it won’t start. Engine turns over fine. But it won’t catch. My process is turn on the key, wait 20-30 seconds, and crank it. No throttle. The battery lives on a battery tender, so it's fully charged. Valve clearances have been checked.
I've cycled the key on and off several times before trying to start (in case it's losing fuel pressure). I can hear the fuel pump turning on. I've tried opening the throttle to almost fully open, and to fully open, while cranking. All to no avail,
A bike mechanic friend of mine, who’s knowledgeable, but not a Yamaha guy, suggests it may have a temp sensor issue. It might not be enriching it enough. Can anybody suggest what my issue might be? Could it be a temp sensor issue?
TIA.
