I was getting tired of the abrupt engine braking and the lack of power in the first three gears. Since I was going to get the ECU flashed and dyno remapped, I also invested in an Akropovic slip on. Attached are the results: Baseline with slip on was 96.5 HP and we eventually reached 99.5 HP after working on the ECU. What the attached chart does not show is how much smoother the engine is now: Engine braking is normal and I got rid of the factory 70% throttle restriction on the first three gears. Cooling fan was set at a lower temperature as well. The bike pulls really strong in 2nd and 3rd gear . Anthony at Bauce racing spent about 4 hours getting everything right, but the result is worth it. The Tenere engine is fantastic once allowed to operate "normally". Bauce racing specializes in tuning Yamaha race bikes and this was their first Tenere. They now have a great engine tune for those looking for ECU upgrades.
