Got the ECU Gen II flash and got a Leo aftermarket muffler with the most quiet insert, will I gain anything with the headers, PCV &AT or do I have to remove the quiet insert?

Is it really worth the cost of headers, PCV & AT in regard of power, smoothness and more? Maybe less fuel consumption?

I guess it depends.

My Headers give about 6BHP, with the Flash as well I am about 10BHP up, but the Headers alone made far less difference than the Flash, unless you really need some extra power probably not worth the cost, I only got my headers as they were a used bargain, as new for half price - and the problem is even the Gen2 Flash si not perfect with the headers, I still get a slight surge @ 2000 - 2100rpm on a steady throttle.

For me this works, the fuelling and feel is excellent everywhere (except the tiny glitch mentioned which is easy enough to ride around) but I would be happy without the extra 6BHP of the headers, below is a bog stock bike Vs mine with Gen2 flash + headers - but still OE end can, swapping this out would give another 2-3BHP.

Note: this was not my stock bike as I went to the dyno centre with the headers already fitted (mine showed 90BHP standard and 96BHP with the headers on a different dyno) but the comparison is bog stock Tenere Vs Arrows and Flash o the same Dyno - but I would expect standard bikes to vary by a few BHP, however what is clear is the arrow headers gives some advantage through the range and really help breathing at the top end (from 6k) which I guess most of us rarely use - I tend to shift at 4-6k 99% of the time.

On the other hand if you want perfection why not go for it, just be aware the laws of diminishing returns will strike, you get 75% of the gains with just the £400 Flash, by the time you have a full exhaust system, PC5 and AT the last 25% will have cost 3 times as much

I was at AF! racing last sat and spoke with Ed Cook. First I love the shop he offered to let me test ride 6 different bikes but I had a group with me that allready was bored just talking flashing. My bike has header, slipon, PCV with dyno tune and some air box mods and the CJM. Ed said get the gen II flash and keep the PC and he will recommended adding extra fuel in the lower rpm's to cure the stumble. I would like to get rid of the jumper and was thinking of opening the air box more so I may pull the trigger shortly. My bike does run very good and just thinking it may not be much stronger with the flash. Any advice?????

I had jumper and Headers and the Flash still transformed it, but the difference is going to be much less if your fuelling is already good, however the jumper does horrible things to the timing that the Power Commander does not resolve, and if you remove the jumper your back to the TB restrctions.

For the relatively low cost compared to the rest of your setup I would get the Flash, the difference may be fairly marginal, but at least you know it is spot on and your not likely to melt a piston / burn out valves over the long term.
