This is great, definitely on my list of places to visit. Actually the inability to take these trails made me trade my FJR in for the s10.

Did you have the TC turned off?

S.
serhan Yes I shut off the TCS because when there is a steep up hill that you need momentum it will shut you down. I had to back down two steep hills when I first got the bike because I had read to use TCS 2 off road. Off road to them must have ment gravel car roads. With the TCS off you can just power up anything.

Good to know. I haven't tackled anything like your pics so TCS2 has been fine so far. But I can why it was a problem. Thanks for the tips and the pics.

I'm up for an Arky- Tenere get together.. I love riding in Ar and the people are really nice.. ::012::
::026::

If you want to do a weekend here there are a few options. SLAP is already organized for Mid May on ADVrider. That will be mostly 650's dual sports and under. By Late June and 4th of July it starts getting pretty hot. It won't get cool until late September or so. The Deer start becoming more of a problem then.

Has a list and maps of offroad areas in the Ozark National Forest. Mill Creek is listed as well. If someone gets settled on a date let me know. I'm in the area and could help with some logistics. ::021::

Eemsreno, nice to be able to get out! Awesome to see you and your son sharing the moments of riding interests! They can never be replaced! I look forward to the day when I can take my daughter for rides or out on an ATV.

Great ride report! ::012:: Glad Eric was able to get some good pics of the S10 in action. The terrain looked very much like what we have here in the North GA mountains. It's good to know the Tenere handled it well.

Thanks very much, that clears out a lot of my questions on TC modes, and gives me an idea for when it needs to be turned off.

Photos look great!

Are there any dates being considered? I will definitely be in AR this year looking for off pavement fun and would enjoy meeting some of you other Tenere nuts, er, uh, riders. ;)

There are so many rides going on. We need to get Chris to post a ride calender just to keep track of them.
I would like to go in March or April, but not sure what else is happening. When is SLAP?

I went down a side road off the Pig Trail , The sign said Rock Creek Road. It started as a car road turned into a jeep road then turned into a non used road. I stopped at Rock Creek and did not try crossing because I was by myself. I would love to go back with some guys and make the crossing and see where that old road would take us. The creek didn’t look like it had been crossed for years. But the road continued on the other side. This is a picture of my bike parked right in the road. And one of the Rock Creek. Any Takers?

The spring is a great time, though a little rainy. June is warm but not too hot. There's a few of us trying to work out some dates and logistics.

Yep, I'm thinking about going, just have some commitments in all of those months, so depends on the date.

This sounds like a cool pack-um-up trip.

The wife and I spent 2 weeks riding in Arkansaw last June on vacation. The weather was great. We ran by Mill Creek ORV Park and talked to the guy running the place for a while. Nice folks.
The Photos eemsreno posted are great. ::008::

Lots of fine paved and dirt roads in Arkansas. We put in a little over 1500 miles of dirt and paved on the KLR and FJR. Had great time.
I would love to go back in June this year on a camping trip.
I will have to see how things work out as far as work goes and a hall pass from the wife (No problem) ;D. This work stuff sure gets in the way of my play time. :(

A great area to ride, lots of off road in the area outside of Mill Creek to ride. been dirt riding in the area for years. There are lots of places a ST could make it and a lot it wouldn't,
A lot of this ride on the north side of 40 loops by the Mill Creek area.

I'll be heading there again April first for the WUDI XIV ride this year, the campground property is adjacent to Mill Creek. I'll be riding my 2005 Honda CR250R woods bike though.

It may look like a Husky but its not, I just made it up to look like one to steal my license plate from my Husqvarna TE250 once in a while.
