Hello,

Been speaking to Protondecay123 (James) for a few days on helping put on a ride for the Super Tenere guys. James spent the day up in the White Rock Mt area of Arkansas. This is in the same location as the SLAP-ADV ride. He has found that the cabins will be available and camp sites as well during the June dates. I will be camping my self. James will post some GPS info up tonight or tomorrow to start talking about areas to consider for the rides. Here is some info about SLAP in the same area and to give you an idea of the surroundings.. Hope to see many of you there ! ::008::

Here's a link to a video of White Rock Mountain.

I was going to upload some GPX files for routes into White Rock, but I can't add an attachment that's a gpx file. Could the Mods change this or advice me what to do next? Thanks, James

Dear all,
Please let me know by PM as soon as possible and no later than 2 weeks before the Pig Trail Wallow ( Thursday, May 24th ) if you want to camp or get a cabin. There are only three cabins, so they will probably fill up pretty quick. There are 8 campsites and lots of camping close by at Shores Lake and Redding campgrounds. Also white Rock is down about 15 miles of dirt roads in a National Forest where you can primitive camp as long as you are not on private property. Thanks, J

Went to White Rock and Shores Lake today. Stopped by Mill Creek OHV Trailhead. Fun day on the Super Ten. The more you ride it the better it gets.

Headed to White Rock

Just a slight preview of some terrain we will see later this Spring! ::021::

Roadlizard has dibbs on Cabin C

Roadlizard has put dibbs on Cabin C. My family is wanting to come up to White Rock for event so I'm taking Cabin A. There is only one cabin left, Cabin B!! They are first come first served, when I get your personal check for the deposit. Camping is the only other lodging available at White Rock. Clarksville, Ozark, Turners Bend or Mulberry Mountain are other options if you don't want to camp. ::020:: ::021::

Really looking forward to this ride and I appreciate Protondecay for facilitating.

Regarding cabin "C", Paula at WRM campground indicated cabin "C" can sleep 5 in seperate beds (more if you are into cuddling) (I am not) ::013::. Cabin "C" is furnished with a bunk bed, (one above the other), consisting of two full size beds, a couch that makes out into a bed. A portable/roll away, and a room with a full bed (which I have claimed). I don't yet know who may be traveling with me so there may be space available in cabin "C". Let me know if you're interested in a bunk and I will be able to let you know of availability by the 1st of May.

Cost is $70 USD per night for the first two and $15 per extra person per night plus tax, title and carrying charges. Will divide the cost equally among the participants.

Thanks, RL

Glad you got it worked out. Wasn't sure how much each cabin holds. Paula seems to be very quick to respond with email. Thanks again for sending me your deposit. Just for the record. There is only one cabin left available Cabin B. If you are going to camp let me know that you are camping and about what time you will be arriving at White Rock. Though we can't reserve the campsites, the day we are going to arrive, Paula will "allocate" them for us. Thanks, J

It's probably a long shot for me, but I am really going to try to make this. Dont pencil me in just yet, but know it is on my radar! ::001::

I have been researching this whole hammock camping thing and that trip would make a perfect testbed for some new gear testing! Why is it that no matter how much stuff you "check off your list", the list only ever grows longer? :'(

::004:: Sounds great! Hope you get a chance to make it. You will definitely get your dirt road riding skills up to snuff in Northwest Arkansas.

::26:: If you are going to camp there shouldn't be any problem with "fitting you in". We only have one cabin left out of three. I'm taking one cabin as my wife and kids want to come out to White Rock. Shores Lake is close by and it's a great swimming hole.

I'm getting my camping gear lined up as well. Don't know much about hammocks except I hate to fall out of them!. ::018::

Maybe one of the Moderators can help me on this But shouldn't this thread be put in " Events" or do we just need to start another there.
