Anyone using the Brake Away Cruise Control?

I'm not a huge fan of the Kaiko and that is the only thing I've found so far. Brake Away is a very nice product but they currently don't have an S-10 specific model. They said they would see if one of their current units fits if they can get a hold of a Super Tenere.

Just curious to see if anyone has successfully mounted one yet and if so, which model?

Thanks

Souperdave

BTW - I'm a newbie and this is my first post. Just got a blue s-10.

Welcome aboard with the awesome "BLUE" bike.

End up with the Kaoko throttle lock as the Brake-Away was not available. Will probably end up installing an electronic cruise control in the near future.

For 20 bucks, the Go Cruise is hard to beat. It does what any other throttle locks does and it does it for less....lol

It was compatible with my Super10's factory grips. I don't know about heated grips, but fail to understand why it wouldn't be compatible. It's a piece of plastic.

It works well. Neat little gadget. On some bikes (Honda ST1300) it will engage the gas tank on a hard right turn and you may get an unexpected nudge of the throttle. as long as you know ..... It's a little fidgety, but one you have it set, it holds well. R

Yes sir. On my FJR I had McCruise for about $600 that was nice and worked like a car cruise control. But for $20 this is the cats meow IMHO. ::008::

Well, it works fine on my factory grips with Symtec heaters. Don't need the little silicone ring supplied with it either. Plenty of friction on the factory grip.

I'll also add that on the inner most portion of the grip, where the cruise control device is installed, there is NO heat tape under that spot anyway. The heat tape, when centered under the grips, is about 3/4" from each end of the grips.

I love the thing. On hills when I need to add some throttle, I just add a little and back off to the cruise control near the crest. Gives my hand a major break. Grip heaters and one of these devices are mandatory, IMO.

I had one on my ST1300, didn't care for the breakaway at all. Expensive and I felt the Vista Cruise worked better, have one on both the ST1300 and SuperTen.

Let be be clear, I'm referring to the $20 snap on plastic thingy.

Couldn't agree more Jim with the Go Cruise. I also use the Caterpillar O-Ring as a backup because my Go Criuse slips over time and needs constant nudging or it drops a few mph. My buddy was researching a completely electronic device for his VTX and it was priced at $1,200 ridiculous.

The Vista is the best thing since sliced bread. $25 and it doesn't slip. You don't have to mess around with closing the throttle just to take control back over. Flip on/off. Love it.

Install is SUPER easy. Simple cut off the cable interface that they come with. Get a bit of 3M "Auto Trim" tape. Tap the square part of the Vista to the side of the throttle tube. DONE.

I have done this on the last 4 bikes I have owned. LOVE it.

I've used Kaoko, Throttlmeister, Vista-Cruise, and now Go Cruise on a variety of bikes. I perhaps like the GC the best. And for the money, simplicity, 5-sec installation time, and ability to swap between bikes, it's the hands-down winner in my book.

Thanks All for the advice. I had a Vista on my KLR and like it but have to say the Go Cruise is about as simple as it gets. I think I'll try one; not much to lose!

Thanks again all.
