Jeff did you try it without the wasps bracket first. not a fan of the bracket but considering the large and wondered how it fit you. terrysig
Terry, I didn't. I use the bracket to hold my gps. That is main reason I went with bracket.

understood i use a techmount off the handlerbr. Like cleaner look around the dash. about ready to pull the trigger on the calsi but potential rain slot and what seems to be an odd shape from bottom.to top so has me wondering about wind coverage and buffering. i guess I'm thinking the slope . not wanting a barndoor effect?

I have the CalSci large windscreen, and really like it. Vast improvement over stock. I'm 6 feet, with a 31" inseam (long torso), and I sit in pretty still air with the screen in the lower position. No more buffeting at all (and the buffeting was pretty bad with the stock screen). Visibility through the screen is very good, not distorted, and I see comfortably over the screen.

Added the OEM side windguards the other day, and the combo makes for a pretty quiet, still cockpit. I also ordered their hand knobs for the screen, which help make removal/adjustment very fast without tools. Rode in the rain yesterday and didn't notice particular problems with rain coming through the small port, but I wasn't riding for hours and hours.

I have the large size and a Wasp adjuster bracket. Whilst better than stock, and better than the larger Yamaha touring screen, it's not as good as I would have hoped. I still get quite a log of buffeting due to the screen not being wide enough. This manifests itself in turbulent air hitting the sides of my helmet and is very annoying (but not nearly as nasty as the stock screen).

I'd like to have a wider version.

I'm 6'2" by the way.

I have the CalSci medium shield with the Wasp bracket and OEM wind deflectors and have ridden this combination for 18,000 miles with very good results and NO buffeting. I am 6' 1" w/ 32" inseam.

I'm 5'11" and tall torso'd. I have the CalSci Med screen with oem wind deflectors. I've ridden in plenty of rain at speeds from 60-80 for sustained periods.

First, I like some air flow, so wasn't looking for a totally quiet 'pocket'. CalSci's web site suggested I get the large, but I went for the Med. I think the Large would give me that fairly quiet pocket, but the trade off is air flow.

The quality is very good and clarity/optics are excellent. No fitment issues on mine.

With the Med screen, I get no air flow to the neck area. I like to open my jacket collar when it's warm and let air balloon up the jacket so the venting works better and it keeps me cooler. With the Med size screen, this doesn't happen. I'll likely pull the screen off and put the stock one on soon, since it's warming up. The first ride with the Med I noticed that at humid temps below 60F, I also didn't get enough airflow to my helmet vents to keep me fog free with the visor closed, (I did with the stock screen). I've gotten used to having to crack the visor open when it's cold, but don't particularly care for this when conditions would not normally require me to use my Pinlock visor.

I do not find that the hole lets in a significant amount of rain. I do have it mounted in the low position, (no extra holes drilled by me), and there is no big gap at the bottom. The cut outs match the hand guards, allowing full lock to lock bar movement.

If you're mostly a fair weather rider and the airflow to your head/neck is not an issue, but turbulence is, it's a good choice. I'm curious about the parabellum screens, as they claim mpg gains too in some cases. They have some opinions I don't share though.

check out the Parabellum 22" and 24"

I have it along with the WASP adjuster...love love love it
Can you move the bars to full lock w/o hitting the screen? Or at least w/o flexing it to get to full lock? And do you think this would be so w/o the WASP adjuster?

Thanks!

I have 1" bar risers on my bike, with the large CalSci windscreen, and no problems here.

::026:: Ditto on the thanks! I have ordered my Super T with 1" SW Motech bar risers and the large CalSci windshield (6'0" w/ 31" inseam) with OEM side deflectors. The help on this thread has been tremendous.

Mine's mounted in the lower position. Started there and have been happy enough that I haven't even tried it in the higher position.

I had one and didn't care for it. Got the varo lip thing and decided to put that on the oem screen AFTER I put that on the cal sci screen... like it better on the oem.

I have one in the garage w/holes in it from the varo lip so if you're interested.
Do you still have the screen MelloW? If so which size and is it clear or tinted? I would be interested as have the Vario at the minute so could use my flip ::008::

I received my short version in there dark tint and am pleased . It could actually be a little shorter but about
tinting , I asked about smoke and they said thats a lite tint compared to there dark tint but they could do it if
I wanted it so I presume they could do what ever tint you wanted . I wouldn't want to be looking through there
dark tint screen . Might be why its not a standard offering .
