I've searched and didn't find anything, but does anyone have a Corbin seat for the S10?

I know seats and seat comfort are highly subjective, but I've got to do something about the stock seat. I find it okay for shorter hops, but for distances it's brutal.

I've had Corbins before and have been satisfied with the product. So......... ::007:: ::008::

As you said, seats a very personal. Corbin seats have always been way to hard for me, and just breaks by butt off.. It hard for me to ride a corbin saddle for much longer than ten minutes. They are great quality and I have known many folks over there years that love them. Again, its just really personal...

I have the Corbin, with heat. I like it. I've had it for 25k+ miles and it is fit to my butt. When I bought it, it was just about the only seat available for the Tenere. I really don't have much to compare it to, except the Sargent a buddy has. I HATE his Sargent. It is flat, wide, and HARD as a rock (coming from a Corbin rider!). I need my seat to allow me to move around while riding, and I want it to disappear if I stand up. The Corbin does this.

If I was to buy a new seat, I think I would try the Saddleman. I had one on my old Buell and I LOVED it. That crotch valley is really wonderful.

When I first got mine i thought I may be returning it , it would not latch when installed to low position , it took 5 washers underneath to finally make it work , I also found it to firm , I gave it a chance and now after getting a couple thousand miles on it I love it. It does not work with the oem pillion they bind causing it not to latch correctly , I rode with wife yesterday for about 150 miles and had to use both factory seats and it sucked a$$ , I'll be buying a corbin pillion soon so I'll never have to do that again !

Thread-vival!

The S10 I just bought came with a Corbin seat. It's pretty damn hard but hugs the butt real well. Like, if it wasn't so hard, I'd be in love with it. I'll probably get used to it. Rode on it all day with zero issues. It's much better that the stock seat on my old Ninja 650.

Corbin the seat that breaks you in!!! :D
I have had a love hate relationship with them, I had one on my 1998 Triumph Tiger 900 Hated it at first but after my Butt surrendered I loved it.
Had one on my 2010 Tiger 1050 and it was on and off for liking it or hating it, Looked sharp on the 1050 fit the lines well (See Photo).
I would like to try it on the Tenere but with the Seat Concepts foam I am happy as of now.

Sounds like you got a bad seat or something, I didn't have any problems with mine binding or installing in either position....anyone else have this problem?

I put my first Corbin on 3 bikes ago and doubt I'll ever have a bike without one again. They do take some break in time but it pays off very well.

The stock seat was horrible for me, gave me sleepypeepee ::025::

I first got acquainted with Corbin seats 25+ years ago. I ran them on my FJ1100/1200's and really liked the way they fit and allowed me to ride ridiculous amounts of miles and time.

Then I got away from riding a lot for a few years and just made do with stock seats. When I got back to where I was riding a lot more I bought another Corbin. Whoa, what the heck happened here? Something changed in their design and they have never felt the same since. I tried them on a couple of different bikes, but just couldn't get use to the new design.

Now I pretty much just use Seat Concepts foam and covers as they work very well. I'm always keeping an eye out for a stock Tenere seat that I can send off to RDL. I'd like to have one for when I'm solo riding and covering a lot of ground. I had a RDL on my Vee and liked it a lot.

Other seats that don't work for me are Sargent and Rick Mayer Seats.

On multiple bikes I've had Corbin, Sargent and Seat concepts. I wasn't very impressed with any of them though all were better than the OEM seats. IMO, it's better to spend a little bit extra (or the same in some cases) for something like Russell Day Long or similar (I forget the other one) that makes custom fit seats.

Just my experience….

I had a Sargent on my Multistrada and it never got comfortable.

I put a Corbin on my Diavel and it did take a bit of break-in but afterwards, very comfortable.

On my S10 the stocker would cause me discomfort after only 1/2 hour in the saddle then I was squirming around. I got a Corbin and its very comfortable. It took a couple rides to break in but now i don't experience any discomfort for those long durations in the saddle. I usually go a couple hours at a time then stretch the legs for a bit...

Than again all Butt's are not the same, seats are all made the same as the manufacturer designs it to be. :-\
Unless they make a mold of your Butt to custom build one to fit you it will be Yea or Nay on a fit from person to person.

All of you Corbin lovers - did you go with leather or vinyl? Pros and cons between the two - looks, feel, durability, water repellency, etc? I've never had a leather seat except on bicycles.

Thanks.

Leather for me, very comfy.

Vinyl will have much better resistance to water, but with a little care leather will hold up just fine. I love the look and feel of a fine leather saddle, but realistically it probably doesn't make a lot of difference since my butt has a thick layer of cordura over it anyhow.

Just came from Hollister, where the Corbin factory is, and they use softer foam these days. I was told that a lot of the newer riders had complained about the seats being too hard.
Julio told me that the company listens to the customers and the seat they've made for me is concrete proof of that. I've had many Corbin seats through the years and up until a couple of days ago I thought the same thing. The problem with a hard seat is that if it doesn't fit you perfectly, I mean 100%, it will turn into a pain in the behind, literally. I love my new Corbin seat. I had it made 2.5" wider than stock. It looks like a Russell Day Long, and with the softer foam they use it's just perfect.
Just a quick note.

I liked the Corbin seat I had on my 2012 for open road riding. Now, when it came to off road riding, I didn't like it at all. the seat was slick and under tight maneuvering, I kept sliding around on the seat especially during braking.

I've always been a big advocate of Corbin seats. Had them on a Valkyrie, DRZ400, Kawi C-14, my past FJR. I also have a set on my 2012 Super Tenere,,,but...it's doesn't seem as comfortable to me. I get a point of pain right in my tailbone after riding a couple of hours. I though it hadn't broke in yet but it's been on my S-10 for over 5,000 miles.

This winter I picked up an FJR. My second. I just can't not have one in my garage. (I know double negative)

On my new FJR I'm really considering a Laam seat. I've never sat on one but the reviews are spectacular. If it works on my FJR I'll probably sell my Corbin set & go Laam on the S-10 too.

I'll report when & if I do something.
