Any issues re-flashing newer S10's?

I sent them my ECU last week, and it should arrive on Tuesday. According to the tracking codes, they flashed it and returned it to USPS within 90 minutes of receiving my package.
Let me know how it goes. I did this on my last bike and it was transformative. I'm just looking for smoother power delivery (and a few extra hp is never bad!). I had a drop in MPGs, but it was substantially due to my right hand. After I got over the perks, I started to ride more sanely and my mileage was nearly the same as before, but without the annoyances. Worth it.

I think the re-flashers that we’re getting busted are mostly doing cars? I haven’t heard of any motorcycle guys getting busted, outside of Harley dealers that is.
It's nearly impossible, let alone an issue. I've flashed two over the years. Zero issues. There are no smog-check requirements for registration, so no opportunity for an inspection.

After reading so many rave reviews about flashing I was considering having my 2018 flashed.
But then after reading about the flashers getting big fines for doing it and most of them quitting the flashing business I decided to forget about it.
Many claim they get better mpg after having the Tenere flashed, the only flashed Tenere I have ever actually ridden with is Tenere Guy and whenever we filled up with gasoline he usually takes about a gallon more than I do.
I've noticed a very small drop in MPG - ONLY after I got over the initial excitement of the smoother delivery and more power throughout the entire RPM range. On my V-Strom 1K I got between 5-10% less mpgs overall, even though I still dipped into it more often than before the flash.

Put a few hundred miles on the 2 Wheel Dynoworks ECU flash, now. A '22 ES with stock exhaust, stock intake. Results:
  • Smoother power delivery throughout
  • A bit more power throughout
  • More responsive in the mid range/at cruising speed
  • Slightly smoother in the 4k-6k range (yay!)
  • A bit more power near redline before drop-off (but still not a screamer)
  • Much less snatchy, specially in S mode
  • A bit less responsive just off idle in T mode
  • No difference in MPG from what I can tell so far, still averaging ~50
  • Every function/feature still works (cc, modes, etc.)
I considered a K&N, but 2Wheel said there are no measurable gains and not worth the trouble. I don't see doing anything else for more power. It has plenty of very usable torque that does the job 98% of the time. I like the quiet stock can and clean(ish) exhaust. My last bike had a full header/can and on hot days in the city the exhaust was too pungent, though it did have more power. For me, not a good tradeoff. Taking out the ECU was not that bad, either. The turnaround was very quick and well worth the $265 (inc. shipping). No other mod can touch this at this price. Highly recommend this for US owners!

I'll be doing an interview with them in a couple of weeks and will post it on the EternalGarage.com blog. Good guys.

I’m interested to learn what map changes were made to the S map as opposed to the T map. I assume that the S map is tuned for more power and torque and smoother throttle response but what is the T map tuned for?

You must have got the good deal. I see $300 plus shipping. I’ve thought about a retune either with diy or send it to someone. I am pretty sure there is some improvement to be had.

I had my ECU flashed by 2WDW this month. For me, the most noticeable improvements occurred in T-Mode. I was expecting S-Mode to be night and day different (which is vastly improved), but I wasn't anticipating T-Mode to become so much more useable. To me, T-Mode now has a slightly stronger throttle response, but it is still muted compared to S-Mode at partial throttle. I would say it's much more linear than it was stock. I also installed a full exhaust just before the flash and only have 800 miles on my ST, so I don't have much experience with the ST before the exhaust and flash.

The modes kept to their intended purposes, they are both more usable now, though - for me - the T mode is a bit too soft for in-town riding, especially off-idle. But when locked in on cc, it's about perfect. The S mode is more usable overall, and I've been keeping there for commuting.

After putting several hundred more miles on my '22 ST, the 2 Wheel Dyno Works flash nailed it. A bit more power, but now more linear and smooth. I don't see a hit on the fuel economy, either. I get 2-3 mpg less, overall, but I'm also dipping into that new-found power too often. It's a must-do. I ended up contacting them and wanted to know more, so I did an interview. They have a really good story. I put it up on EternalGarage.com, here: https://eternalgarage.com/remember-the-ride-interview-2-wheel-dyno-works

I've made the commitment to reflash my 2022 ST. I've flashed other bikes' ECUs with great results (including. most notably, my '18 V-Strom 1K), and have read many positive reports on the ST. I'm having a bit of an issue with removing the ECU, however. There is one thread here that has some photos and explanations, but they don't quite seem to match up with what I see. There seems to be a fastener in the middle of the component module that contains the battery, wire bundles and some small electronics. I can't see the where to remove it, and understand there's a way to get at it from the "other side". Anyone have better photos or explanations? I look through the forums. Thanks!
If you haven't figured it out yet then look at my "What TenereGUY has been up to " thread. Pics and all in there.

To be fair... my 50 L panniers are a lot more wind resistance and I was loaded way to heavy... but I always had what any one person needed! With panniers off, only my 270# plus gear on the bike and at 63 mph I am right around 49 to 50 mpg. Just letting people know so they can make a more informed decision.
