Put a few hundred miles on the
2 Wheel Dynoworks ECU flash, now. A '22 ES with stock exhaust, stock intake. Results:
- Smoother power delivery throughout
- A bit more power throughout
- More responsive in the mid range/at cruising speed
- Slightly smoother in the 4k-6k range (yay!)
- A bit more power near redline before drop-off (but still not a screamer)
- Much less snatchy, specially in S mode
- A bit less responsive just off idle in T mode
- No difference in MPG from what I can tell so far, still averaging ~50
- Every function/feature still works (cc, modes, etc.)
I considered a K&N, but 2Wheel said there are no measurable gains and not worth the trouble. I don't see doing anything else for more power. It has plenty of very usable torque that does the job 98% of the time. I like the quiet stock can and clean(ish) exhaust. My last bike had a full header/can and on hot days in the city the exhaust was too pungent, though it did have more power. For me, not a good tradeoff. Taking out the ECU was not that bad, either. The turnaround was very quick and well worth the $265 (inc. shipping). No other mod can touch this at this price. Highly recommend this for US owners!
I'll be doing an interview with them in a couple of weeks and will post it on the EternalGarage.com blog. Good guys.
