I picked up my '14 base model at the dealer a few days ago, and my dealer also carries Altrider now, so I had them install crash bars and skid plate before I picked the bike up.
I was checking the bike out in the garage a couple days later and noticed that rear edge of the skid plate was making contact with the exhaust, specifically the catalytic convertor. I am concerned that with continued contact the skid plate will damage the cat. I showed the service manager and we puzzled over what to do as there did not appear to be any good way to adjust the fit. When I go back in a week or two for the 600 mile service and they have the skid plate off for the oil change, we are going to look at grinding some material off the skid plate to create some space.
So be careful of the fit at that point.
And, if any of you have experienced this and have a better solution, please let me know.
