Mine too, my riding pants have me straddling the tank every time I let off the throttle. Try saddle tite or similar from a tack shop. Its a spray for leather horse saddles that makes them grip.I’m using a Corbin seat, other than being to slippery it works very well for me. I bought the seat used and think the previous owner must have put Armor All or something like that on it attempting to make it look better, have tried washing it off a bunch of times but that doesn’t seem to help, I have put over 4,000 miles on the seat and it’s not as slippery as it used to be but it’s still more slippery than I prefer.
Thanks kaalsb I will be looking for some Saddle Tite ! Sounds like maybe your Corbin is even more slippery than mine is, have you actually tried Saddle Tite ?Mine too, my riding pants have me straddling the tank every time I let off the throttle. I won't try to top your story but let's just say I can relate. I'm happy you came out of it alive. You're giving really solid advice to wear all the gear whenever swinging a leg over the bike.I happen to be a pretty firm believer in wearing safety gear all the time so I’ve never tried just jeans on this Corbin seat.
About four years ago I totaled out a Goldwing by hitting a deer at night on the freeway at 70mph, I was very lucky to survive. I was wearing a very expensive motorcycle jacket that helped a lot but just jeans and both knees got skinned up pretty bad, the doctor said I was very lucky it happened on concrete because if it happened on blacktop the oil would have gotten in the wounds and caused a lot more misery. I only had one broken rib but my left thumb came apart because of the impact while holding onto the handlebars and my right wrist got pretty seriously sprained, they managed to put my thumb back together and I’m very happy about that but it will never fully recover, my right wrist is also still pretty painful at times.
Since that accident it’s very unusual for me to ride at all without full safety gear.
Hmm, I've never heard of that issue? I inflate mine just to where my butt is barely touching the seat. It then just stays good through the ride. Now that your talking about it I'll probably notice it on my next long ride in the heat!! LOLHow do you guys keep the airhawk from inflating when it gets super hot? I know I can reach down and try to unscrew the cap to adjust it a bit, but if I go to far it's pretty much useless. That's why I didn't take it on the second part of my long trip last year even though it was super comfortable.
Yeah. Sorry about that. I went DC, Tampa, Houston, Amarillo, Boulder, Duluth, Indianapolis, DC above 100 degrees almost every day. It was brutal.Hmm, I've never heard of that issue? I know this is an old thread. But did you have the Airhawk cruiser R large (14x14.5”) or cruiser R small (11x11)?Yep that’s the one!
