After a year with the Protaper adventure high bars, and lots of tinkering to get that "perfect ergonomic" I think I've found it.

I give you the ADV Apehangers:[smg id=3051 type=preview align=center caption="IMG 20170613 115052"] [smg id=3052 type=preview align=center caption="IMG 20170613 115104"]

Yes, the barkbusters hit the windshield at full left and right locks... BUT the standing position when riding is incredibly comfortable. I took it for an hour offroad blast down some local dirt roads here and I have to say I think this is it for me. It has a very familiar ergonomic position to a KLR with Rox Risers and stock bars.

I moved the grips inboard 7/8ths of an inch on the left and right sides which was interesting to get the bark busters to fit. You can see the clutch is rotated up higher than the brake but this isn't unnatural for me. I also rotated the bar forward two full degrees (as indicated by the marks on the protaper bars) of the previous position. This gives me a very comfy riding position with straight(er) wrists and no more numb thumb on my throttle hand.

Measurements: 24 inches index knuckle to index knuckle. 22 inches shoulder (top center) to knuckle. and 14 3/4 inches from top of seat to top of the bars.

Comparison to my two enduro bikes:

KTM 500 EXC-F (Stock ergo) 23 3/8th knuckle to knuckle, 11 1/2 seat height to bar, and 20 inches shoulder to knuckle

XT250 (stock) 23 1/4 knuckle to knuckle, 12 1/2 inches seat height to bar and 20 inches shoulder to knuckle.

I found previously that the XT250 was probably the most comfortable riding position of all the bikes.

It's a bit ridiculous, but it is the most comfortable riding position I've found yet on the S10.

Not silly or ridiculous at all. I've considered similar and may end up with something like this or even the same!

Guessing you are using extended brake/clutch lines?

What is the feasibility of putting the throttle cables under the bar?

I do have the Rideonadv extended brake and clutch lines. After doing the work I went for a ride and realized my steering stem nut needed to be re-torqued so I'm probably going to re-route the cables while I have everything apart.

Looking at the pictures, all appears fairly normal from the saddle. But, the picture from the front makes the bars appear higher than they are. I can definitely see the potential advantage of this set-up.

did ya sit on my scooter at the rally in WV? Someone did and liked mine, not sure if it was you or not. They appear to be WAY high, but like the others said...........you gives a Sh*$!!!!! Do you know how much higher they are? Like 2 inches or like 5?.

I guess because I am so short that I need high bars so when I stand I can reach them, seems kinda backwards to me...........

(Paul, Harrison and Bob will chime in at ANY minute now with short jokes.) So bite me in advance.

If your short and ride a Tenere with at least a bit of skill, you should be considered a 'Rock Star'.

I could care less what my bike looks like 3 hours or more into a 10 hour day of mostly standing.

I just put the Adventure EVO high bend on my 2014. I also dropped my pegs (SW Motech). Besides the fact that I'm now scratching the longish peg feelers, I've never been more comfortable or felt less fatigued standing up.

I tapped the bars to use the S10 stock weights and guards. There's a thread here somewhere where I added all my bar mod thoughts.

::025:: I'm 72" tall with a 31" inseam. If my height matched my legs, I'd be 5'6". If my height matched by torso, I'd be 6'6". My friends refer to me as Magilla. The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. ::025::

I noticed that Fasst now has a Flexx bar for the Super Tenere with either 15 degrees or 19 degrees sweep. I'm curious to know what that feels like. Not 359 dollars curious... Protapers are a steal at 80-90 bucks.

After getting my steering stem re-torqued properly I went for a ride yesterday. Really happy with the tighter steering feeling. I get weird turn in on slow speed sharp turns. After a certain point in the turning arc the front wheel wants to pull hard into the turn. This doesn't affect anything other than low speed parking lot maneuvers. I think that's mostly related to the shorter cogent shock. I never dropped the clamps on the front shocks to account for the shorter shock. Seriously thinking about going to a different (taller) shock, then sending my RDL seat back in for some changes. I bought it used, and while it's amazingly comfortable compared to the stock seat, it was made for someone with longer legs and arms than me. It's getting close to the point that it needs to be recovered as well. Next winter mods.... I'm too busy riding!

For reference, I'm 5'11", short arms, short legs, long tree trunk torso, thick neck. Pretty much everything requires a tailored fit. Rack dress clothes either come off baggy or sausage casing, not a fan of wearing a tie as a result.

Actually Fasst came out with those Tenere specific bars a few years back. I jumped on them because of the story behind them. (yea, it's marketing, I know) But I was wanting the 15degree sweep anyways, and loved the beautiful engineering of their product.

31" in seam is still way better than what I sport............

I did get my new low Seat Concepts saddle, have not ridden it yet but my plan is to take off the lowering links and go back to stock. Hope hope.

Back on topic: Mine are fastway but I gots no idear what sweep they are, if memory serves they are a ADV bar/bend. NOt sure but I love the heck out of them. I need to swap out footpegs, why would one lower them? Keeps legs straighter when sitting? For taller (hate) people?
