After a year with the Protaper adventure high bars, and lots of tinkering to get that "perfect ergonomic" I think I've found it.
I give you the ADV Apehangers:[smg id=3051 type=preview align=center caption="IMG 20170613 115052"] [smg id=3052 type=preview align=center caption="IMG 20170613 115104"]
Yes, the barkbusters hit the windshield at full left and right locks... BUT the standing position when riding is incredibly comfortable. I took it for an hour offroad blast down some local dirt roads here and I have to say I think this is it for me. It has a very familiar ergonomic position to a KLR with Rox Risers and stock bars.
I moved the grips inboard 7/8ths of an inch on the left and right sides which was interesting to get the bark busters to fit. You can see the clutch is rotated up higher than the brake but this isn't unnatural for me. I also rotated the bar forward two full degrees (as indicated by the marks on the protaper bars) of the previous position. This gives me a very comfy riding position with straight(er) wrists and no more numb thumb on my throttle hand.
Measurements: 24 inches index knuckle to index knuckle. 22 inches shoulder (top center) to knuckle. and 14 3/4 inches from top of seat to top of the bars.
Comparison to my two enduro bikes:
KTM 500 EXC-F (Stock ergo) 23 3/8th knuckle to knuckle, 11 1/2 seat height to bar, and 20 inches shoulder to knuckle
XT250 (stock) 23 1/4 knuckle to knuckle, 12 1/2 inches seat height to bar and 20 inches shoulder to knuckle.
I found previously that the XT250 was probably the most comfortable riding position of all the bikes.
It's a bit ridiculous, but it is the most comfortable riding position I've found yet on the S10.
