Not sure if this will be helpful to anyone out there, but I've been looking at ways to increase my visibility on my recently purchased Tenere while out in traffic. I looked at several options and decided on the Admore light bar which is a "LED High-Powered SMT Light Bar with modulating brake light, progressive, amber turn signals and new Smart Brake technology". https://www.admorelighting.com/product/admore-smt-light-bar-with-smart-brake-technology-new/

I installed the original version on a friend's NC700X and liked it a lot. This is the improved version with programmable firmware as well as a deceleration sensor that illuminates the brake light when engine braking.

Rather than putting it on the license plate as designed, I decided to put it up high - at eye level with most car drivers. I bolted it to the top case and connected it to the bike using a 5 pin trailer connector to connect the 5 wires from the device to the OEM wiring.

Very happy with the outcome. It's super bright and will hopefully grab the attention of most drivers!

Did you make it quick release for when you want to take off the top case?
Yes I used a flat 5 trailer connector so it comes apart with a quick tug. There are more elegant connectors out there, but trailer connectors are rugged and simple so that's what I decided to go with.

Sorry I didn't read the middle of your original post. Thanks for the pic, though. That looks awesome. Not sure I really want to drill holes in my Bumots, but I really want to add some additional tail lighting. This seems like a great option.

Very nicely done! That adds a lot of visibility. How easy was it to wire into the bike? Do you just tap into the existing turn/brake lights at the back end or do you have to run them up by the battery?

I should have photographed it, but I tied into the wiring that is under the rear seat. They provide Posi-Taps but I prefer soldering so that's what I did. Some shrink tubing and electrical tape, and it came out really clean.

This bar will readily attach to your license plate bolts and that is how I installed one on my friend's Honda. It looks great, but I wanted mine up higher and wasn't worried about drilling into the Yamaha box.
