True, one more reason not to live there! Could still be worth the call I know they were half what progressive was for me. Just my 2 cents

I got GEICO: 250 a year for the 2012...but I'm over 60 and no accidents. My 2nd bike is only like 50 more per year.

If anyone feels comfortable sharing, do these insurance premiums include comprehensive and collision insurance on the ST? I have managed to get some decent quotes but they still shoot up to over $2k if I add comp and collision.

Yes...but, rates vary with a number of conditions; zip code for one, I live in a city, so rates go up. Other factors besides age, and history include garage or not, residential vs urban neighborhood and other vehiucles. My Porsche is cheap(er) because we also have 4 other cars....

Frankly, I don;t remember the coverage; pretty sure it's comp and collission...but I don;t recall the deductible or coverage limits which have a large impact on the premium. I know they are not as large as any of the cars.

I think the clear as mud answer here is you should call around, like I say here in the sticks with out tickets married with kids own my home with comp/collision $50 deductible through geico $20 per month or $240 per year. But it took 6 phone calls. Oh and don't make a claim cause I hear they will drop you like a rock if they have to cut a check. -good luck

Just adding to the heap here, but I'd been with Progressive for many years and had all our vehicles (3 suv's, 1 car, & 5 bikes) and homeowners through them and they still tried to get me for $1600.00 on the Tenere. "Rock bottom Sir... That's the best we can do and the best you will find." Naturally, I walked. Now the S10's at $400 through Nationwide.

I'm at 293 with State Farm. They insure everything I own and have for 20ish years. I have an umbrella policy on top of this, so my liability has to be at 250/500.

Note below they actually call it 'DUAL PURP.' Also interesting, it's the most expensive of any I've insured with them. My K1600GTL, insured at the same time, was only $240? My understanding is that it's all about claim history, not type/style/size, but that's just what my agent says.

I used a insurance broker, they are supposed to find me the best price, fernet.com they put me with Dairyland. This is with my current bike a Suzuki SV1000. I had a accident the first in decades and they were very generious with the estimate for repairs.

I am with Progressive for $325/year. I have cars, boats, and ATV's with them. I have full coverage on the Tenere and evem have uninsured motorist as well, because here in MS, a lot of people do not carry insurance, even though it is now the law. I do have a motorcycle endorsement on my license though, because it is required in MS now. Deductible is $500. Includes $3K in accessory coverage standard. I'm in my early 50's. Mine is a 2012 I got new in Feb.

Wow, prices all over the board. I'm 42, married, homeowner, no tickets or accidents, and pay $235 a year with Allstate for full coverage, with a $1000 deductible. Use Allstate for home, one car, and one truck as well.

Another Progressive policy holder here....

I went from paying $180/year for a VTX 1800 to $439/year on the ST. It really baffled me because the VTX is supposed to be a sport cruiser. I figured the insurance would be around the same.
