Congrats. Hopefully the weather will give you an opportunity to ride it some before the spring.

How tall is that seat? Looks like a great ride for the little lady. ..

I don't know the spec, but it is pretty low.

The bike is also pretty light.

A fair warning though, this bike is certainly NOT for beginners. The motor is a serious monster.

If the lady isn't a beginner, I apologize for being a sexist pig. My wife rides a Speed Triple so I didn't mean it.

Congrats Greg on the new bike. ::008::

They really are a hoot, I took one for a spin when I dropped the Tenere off for winter storage yesterday. They have a shop demo model, it is almost never there: eithe customers or staff has it out.

I think it has potential, and I also think Yamaha is on the right track with this. Now they need to offer a "country" version for us non-urban folk: bigger tank, some level of both wind protection for the rider, and engine protection from road hazards. We tend to ride long distances, and the stone roads may be tough on that exposed Ducati-esque sump. great bike. At some point, I may have to get one.

Great Bike. Enjoy the ride though I doubt that will be soon given the winter? We are blessed in SA. We ride all year round.

Thanks guys.
Yes the bike is fairly low. Next to the tenere it looks small.
My wife came out to the garage and promptly declared it a girls bike. ::) Good thing she doesn't know that it wheelies on a whiff of throttle.
She then said that it looks like my old cbr900rr street fighter but properly put together.

No matter, the reviews that I read were very good, and the initial ride confirmed it.

As some of the guys said, it's no slouch. This thing will probably out run, out handle, brake, and be generally 100% better than the cbr (sold) and my 01 vfr (sold)
It's meant to put a grin on my face each morning to and from work, running to the store, and short blasts outside of the city.

I'm sure it will be a very entertaining bike.
Will not be able to be ham fisted, like you can be on the ST.
