Haven't clicked the link yet. (fixing to)

But no matter what, "ditching the Big Girl" is out of the equation.
Ditching the Orange SE, is though. (It's the lighter PIG already)

Ok, I clicked it.
I'm an optimist and a dreamer. I BELIEVE it is inevitable.
Don't care if they get it exactly the way I would want it. (They won't. They can't, or it wouldn't sell)

Very cool!

For the type of riding I do, I think a smaller Tenere would work for me. I'd have bought the 660 if it was available in the US..

Depending on when or if it comes out, it might be an option for me...

And I am right smack in the middle of modifying and customizing a new-to-me DR 650, punching it out to a 790, etc. I will probably spend as much on this DR as this new Tenere will cost. Oh well................

I have been spoiled by the lighter weight of my new to me DR (pig that it is). Big bike would be long gone. The weight is making me weary. I'm old but not to old to dream.

It would make marketing sense to get another use out of that peachy MT07 engine, the 660's a good off roader but being a single makes it a bit 'wheezy' on faster roads. Could be a winner, as would an MT09 engined model...

I'd consider it for my wife today if it was available. ;) Or, Yamaha can step up and then stomp the entire class of mid size standard, adventure bikes with a shaft drive version of this that still weighs sub-500 lbs and has a lower than 32" seat height. Stomp, as in end BMW market share all together. Only the die hard rondel dipsticks would even consider buying any of the poorly named, poorly built bikes BMW sells in that class, (and make no mistake, they own it now w/o any competition).

When I bought my Tenere I told my wife this is my Alaska bike. Haven't found the time to ride to Alaska yet but when I do it will be on the 1200.

If it's lighter and shorter then I would be very interested in considering one for my wife. For me...not so much.
