Anyone hear what Yamaha is going to do in the next few years with the Tenere? I'm looking to buy, but if the 2016 or 2017 is going to be far superior to the 2015 then I can wait a little while longer.

I hear they're discontinuing it.

I also hear all motorcycles will be outlawed, the work week will be cut to 20 hours for full time employees and everyone will receive tax breaks totaling $20,000.

Cool! So if I keep my bike I'll be an outlaw? Always wanted to be an outlaw, never the sheriff.

Nobody really knows what manufacturers will until they do it, even they don't know. But what if you are not around in 2016/17? Then you missed out on riding an S10, just get what you want now! You know you want to.

the 2015 bike is he latest version so can't see any S10 changes apart from colours for next 2-3 years. The current bike is amazing and an improvement on previous models (i got/had 3 of them including new 2015)

Yam has a refresh cycle of 3-5 years and the Gen2 came out in 2014. Don't expect more than bold new graphics till at least 2017.

I was on a Yamaha demo ride over the weekend and asked the rep about this. He said other than colors no changes were in the works for 2016

Don't know if he was BS-ing me, but a sales rep at a local multi-brand dealer told me that Yamaha was reducing the price of the Super-T next year. This was all part of a conversation about buying a 2015 ES, which they did not have in stock and the salesman was pushing pretty hard on selling me a KTM instead. I ended up going to a different dealer.

I would like to see self canceling turn signals. Not a big thing but something that all of us do...forget to push the button on occasion. Also, I would like to see an upgraded led headlight. Less energy...more light! I am sure that Yamaha could crank out a few more horse power and still maintain the dependability of the bike. The only problem is the the more hp the more heat off the engine.

Does anyone know why self canceling turn signals were ever done away with?
I loved them way back when on the old Virago.

this has the best write-up of Gen 2 changes I've seen, basically heads, cyclinders, ports, bars, dash, cruise etc.:

http://www.sportrider.com/bikes/2014-yamaha-super-tenere-first-ride-review

Unlike team Red, Yamaha actually seems to listen to their customers and offer updates on a regular basis.
The S10 is not a huge seller but then again neither is the FJR and I believe they are on Gen. 3 with that
one now. As Gen. 2 for the S10 was in 2014, I would expect Gen 3 to be in 2017 at the earliest. ADV
bikes are still growing in market share and Yamaha would likely want a bigger slice of that so that might
argue for sooner vs. later in the 3-5 yr. refresh cycle. Personally, there is not a lot I would change
but I would expect more electronica....
