Thanks all!

I spent a few hours with Jim (Yamajet) on Saturday fitting these up to his 14/S10. The same mods apply on the 14 as on the 12/13. I will put together a little S10 kit I think as well.

Thought I would post a few pics of my 12 mods.

I installed the new risers yesterday, the new riding position is great. Even with the line relocation the brake line is pretty tight at full lock. Enough so that I'm a little nervous about it, but I really don't know how tight is too tight.

Can I loosen the new brake line clamp and pull on the hard line a little? I just need maybe another 1/4 inch to feel comfortable.

Thanks.

You do not want it pulling on the brake line. You have a couple of options.

1. You can move the break lever mount in board on the handlebar a bit. I like to have it positioned so my pointer finger is the bend "elbow" of the lever. That will give you some slack.
2. If you look at the pic above I actually move the brake line forward by repositioning it on the frame. It is not a good idea to remove it from the frame mount without securing it to the frame.
3. have a new brake line made up that gives 2" additional length.

I think the Alt Rider boys made A VID: https://www.youtube.com/watch?annotation_id=annotation_647474&feature=iv&src_vid=7E4AIvLt7z8&v=yLMSSIqvTeg

Thank you! The AltRider Video has the brake line below the mounting hole. I reversed it, like in your picture, with the line above the hole and all is well. I can go full lock left with no drawback. I'm still getting a tiny bit of drawback at full lock right but it's coming from the wiring not the clutch line.

Will the regular non-adjustable risers current used on the pre-14 work o the 14?

I'm finding the bars are not back but wouldn't mind them coming back just a bit. And I never messed w/hoses with those.

Mellow: I am not sure anyone has made an angled block riser for this yet. I am guessing there is. I have not.
My apologies sir, I was thinking I had some and they were made by you so please disregard.

NO worries. if you had a 12-13 model then yes, the block risers work great.
Okay, yes I found an image....

That's what I was thinking about.. a version of that would be nice.. assuming there's demand..

Love my Rox Risers!

If you go with the 2" rise like I did, I STRONGLY recommend the Rideonadv 2.5" longer lines (http://rideonadv.com/shop/brakes/rideonadv-super-tenere-long-lines/).

I've heard that some people after doing the altrider work around still have plenty of play. Personally, I wasn't comfortable how the brake line would be "pulled" tight when at full lock left. Some people state they never go full lock. Well, I go off road and dropping your bike may force your bike to full-lock. Last thing I need is a broken brake-line out in the boonies somewhere.

Also the lines allows you more flexibility to put the bar angle exactly where you want without worrying how much "stress".

Installation is not difficult. If you can change the oil, you can do this. Get the 10mm flare nut wrench as recommended. If you have a mityvac, it makes bleeding a breeze!

I love the risers also. Lines are okay BUT longer lines are likely in my future, just because its one more damn thing I just have to put on my stupid bike... $$$... Send your extra money to Xtreem Lee P.O. Box...
