One of the problems with literally all the 250cc dual-purpose bikes sold in the USA is fuel capacity - in that none of them have enough IMHO. Another is that many of them, like the WR250R, have such high seat heights that they scare many riders off.
Agree and really makes me wonder why Suzuki America took the trouble to import the DRZ250, but didn't also offer the Djebel 250XC? Essentially the same bike but street legal with a large headlight, rear rack and 4.5 gallon tank.

Geez, I would have loved to find one of those... Only problem is I don't know a decent Suzuki dealer within 500 miles!!! All the ones any closer that I have any experience with are completely worthless, IMHO. But I sure like that 'Zook in the pic!!! ::008::

No problem... But now that you've put in the right pic I'll need to go and edit my replies!!! ::025::

My Yamaha dealer is happy to work on mine but it's a pretty simple bike so DIY is easy. Makes a great stablemate for the S10, even found a 3-pannier rack made by a shop in Ukraine. If you ever come across a good deal on a DRZ250, I'm sure the Djebel's tank and light would bolt right on.

Cool looking rig!!!

For me the problem is not getting it worked on as I pretty much do all my own wrenching except for putting on tires (these days I'd just rather pay somebody to do that!). Nope, it's actually trying to buy a Suzuki. Just no dealers around I can work with.

That said, if I can find a DRZ250 I'll make sure to check it out. Maybe if I find one I get you to find me the tank, headlamp, etc. over there and get whoever has it to sell it to me and ship those pieces here!

Thanks!

Happy to help. I've been using this multiline dealer for years. http://www.drsuda.co.jp/ The guy that runs it, Takahisa Suda, used to live in the US and speaks pretty good English. Very nice guy and willing to sell and ship bike parts to buyers stateside.

And it´s Air cooled

Anyone that thinks the Wr250r is too tall should take a second look. A lowering link is only $120.00. Then if you want to get real fancy you can purchase a Corbin seat that lowers it even more. I have a 29" inseam and have no problem with my Wr250r . I do think of it as as little brother to my Tenere. My Tenere also has a lowering link and the stock seat has had a little of the foam removed. I have no problem on either of the bikes. I love both these bikes. The WR is the most amazing to me. I can play in the dirt (trail ride) all day on a 300 lb motorcycle and then hit the highway and be comfortable at 70MPH all the way home. Top speed is over 90 MPH. I cannot believe it is just a 250. I also own a Suzuki DR650, The WR250r is more comfortable at 70 on the highway than the DR is.
