Yeah I think it will make a nice sport-tourer with a bit of dirt ability thrown in. Gotta be more top-heavy than the S10, with less ground clearance. Still, it will suit a lot of people, mainly those for whom the S10 makes insufficient power.... I think the Triumph 1200 and the Crosstourer are directly comparable, and the GS/GSA/S10 have a slightly different focus.

What's with the angular design though? Don't like it on the Tiger 800, like it even less on the 1200.

I was considering the Tiger explorer when I bought the S10, My last few bikes were triumphs. On the plus side The triple motor is probably the best thing out there imo...but triumphs have extremely high servicing costs. I do plan on making a AK trip and the Triumph dealer network just isn't as big as Yamaha's . As I put more miles on the S10 the happier I am about my purchase. I think it will do everything I require from an adventure tourer and more. ::022::

I got the possibility to see it in EICMA
It is really a nice bike
But the fuel tank is just 20 liters,not enough for a maxi enduro

I think if the Tiger had come out 12 months previous then i would have bought one. As Yamaha UK have now reduced the price of the S10 by nearly £1200, then i think i'll be keeping the S10. Also, the Triumph is a new model. Give it 12 months to see what issues arise. Still not convinced by SSSA shaft drive on euro bikes...

I have a feeling that the Triumph will not be as economical as some would think. and it also has a 20Litre tank on this model.

Just a feeling based on the high rev, high power. Not confirmed obviously, Friction losses will be higher as well so I will keep an eye on it and see how she goes.

One of the few reasons I was looking at a GSA, is the big tank, but the S10 has proved to be economical enough to be OK with the 23Litre capacity.

Would prefer a tad more but I can live with that.

Narked but not all that surprised. Over here the S10 is on a par with the GSA price wise and people won't pay that much for a Japanese bike, even though the S10 has proven itself more robust.

I guess GS and GSA 1200's littering the roadside back in 2009 wasn't enough for them.
