2012 Honda V4 Crosstourer 1200 concept design Interview Yosuke Hasegawa
::022:: A silky-smooth V4 in an adv bike? Who says our S10 has no 'character.' 8) As high tech as our bike is, the parallel twin still has a simple elegance that the Cross tourer can't touch. Also, the S10's frame is as tough as nails; it has one of the beefier frames (and subframes) I've come across. I think the Cross tourer wil be a more reliable alternative to the Multi strada, though it will be noticably heavier. The CT is such a purdy bike that I'd be afraid to even take on gravel roads. I'm thinking the S10 will no longer be the heaviest adventure bike once this thing comes out...especially if they offer it with DCT option.

As the bike spins on the pedestal look how far the clutch basket sticks out.... WOW... Easily get damaged off road. I think the bike looks good, but more geared toward on road touring.... Also, in this VID the standard little forks are back on the bike, maybe this is an old video....

The UK price is £13,200. As a comparison, the S10 has just had a price reduction to £12,000 and the new Tiger 12 is rumoured to be £11,500 max. Nice one Honda. Yet more V4's gathering dust.

That sounds like a US price very close to the BMW if the Honda comes here..... I guess the VStrome, KLR, Super Tenere guys will be in one group...... and the Harley, BMW, Honda guys will be in the other...... :D

Honda seems to be working harder and harder to cater to all the doctors and lawyers these days....... :D JK

The Crosstourer will probably end up at about the same price as the VFR sport bike at $16K base. The S10 is $14.5K base. Stroms are $8.3K for the 650 ABS and $10.4K for the 1000 non-ABS while KLRs are $6300. How this puts the S10 in the KLR/Strom group and not in the Honda group is beyond me.

Those prices include VAT Deduct 20% before you do a currency conversation and price comparison with US MSRP. That would put a Triumph explorer MSRP less then an S10.

How can it be an oxymoron if you're saying that adventure and touring go together?
You're right - sorry, brain fart! Meant to say redundant. :)

Does anyone yet know whether we are going to see either the Crossrunner or the Crosstour in the USA for 2012?

The Crossrunner has been confirmed to be a no-show, at least for the next year or two.

There is a report on Advrider where someone supposedly talking to an American Honda "representative" who told them that the decision has been made to NOT import the Crosstourer. But nothing official from Honda or even a confirmation from another source. I would find it hard to believe that Honda would pass on the US market; OTOH their recent decisions concerning what bikes to import have been completely bizarre so anything is possible.
