What is a high mileage for a Super Tenere?

Just completed 100,000kms on my 2014 ES. Never had an issue since day one. Except the two valve clearance checks, all maintenance was carried out at home. In 2014, my brand new BMW R1200RT was grounded due to a global recall. I purchased the Super Tenere as a stop-gap solution until BMW replaced...

Yamaha Super Tenere MOTO-TAG photo game

Ha ha ... Haven’t seen anyone else having it, so I am assuming it’s not contagious. Cost me about $200 to get it though!

    Post your mileage.

2014 ES bought new, clocked 84,900 kms and still running. Not had a single mechanical or electrical issues thus far. The engine hasn’t missed a beat. All maintenance (except valve clearance checks) done at home. Only used Yamaha OEM parts and oil. Hope to ride it till it falls apart or next gen...

    ::..Thinking of Trading/Selling my '12 Supa10 for a MT-09 /// Talk me down..::

Gary, now that you own both bikes, you don't think the Tracer GT would ever be a good long distance touring bike (assuming no off-roading is involved)? I have been riding my 2014 S10 for over 5 years (75K kms) and now on the look out for a lighter replacement. I have a Ducati Panigale to...

    2019 Tenere ?

Yamaha seems to have changed their naming convention for adv bikes. The S10 is no longer called the ‘Super Tenere’. Also note the decals on both bikes .. ‘T7’ and ‘T12’ are bold and highlighted. Would the S10 be eventually called ‘T12’ going forward?

Funny thing happened to me yesterday

This depends on your height/torso. The new S10 stock windshield is perfect for me. Ride a few hundred kms, try different helmets (if you have more than one) and then decide.

Funny thing happened to me yesterday

Congratulations! I bought my S10 from the same dealerahip. They gave me the best deal in town back in 2014.

Is the Super Tenere an "Old Mans" Bike?

I have often get comments like 'beast', 'giant', 'tank', 'hauler' etc...but never heard anyone calling it an 'old man's bike'. On the other hand every time I considered buying a Harley Davidson, my friends and family never fail to ask the question 'isn't it an old man's bike'? :)

Funny thing happened to me yesterday

2015/2016 models (new) are going for $14-15k in dealerships around Vancouver. The model hasn't changed since 2014 except colours. It might be worth the trip to the west coast. You could save $3-4K afterall. Just a thought.

What kind of trunk mount is this?

It's the factory mounting base for the Yamaha top box. You need nothing more. I am guessing your dealer didnt mention anything about it when you purchased the bike. :)

URGENT - Help me to find the right aluminum cases setup for me

I am bit curious about requirement 'A'. Do you need the pannier to carry a spare helmet or to,lock your helmet when you are off the bike? If So won't almost an entire pannier remain empty the entire journey when you are riding the bike while the other side be filled with stuff? (Thus will...
