Hi, I am new to the Adventure touring community. I did own a Suzuki 2002 DR650 when I moved to LA, it never saw a speck of dust... Loved the bike but needed something a bit more substantial for longer commutes. Bought and 2005 R6, great fun bike. That was also my introduction to Yamaha. In 2014 I switched to a FZ9. Stunning(and a little savage) commuter but the range was too limited. Growing up in France the Paris Dakar was an event i was looking forward to every year. Of course the Mythical ST was racing back then. Many year later here I am in Vancouver, BC working on a project. Before coming up from LA I had my mind made up on bying a Super Tenere ES upon my return. I was very fortunate to get introduced to DaytonaMotorsport of Vancouver(Yamaha Dealer). They made an offer i could not resist along with switching the Ivory color to the ES model. It's been 3 weeks now, this is the best motorcycle i ever had. Absolutely love it. Looking forward to going back to LA and doing and adventure riding school to eventually it the trails.

Welcome Pierre. As good as my dealer is, they would switch colors for me. But I'm glad they didn't, now, because I love the Cobalt Blue. One of my sons has a '16 R6, and his buddy has an FZ09. THEY think their bikes make good touring mounts. Of course they're still young.

Welcome Pierre C.
I just rode an FZ09 today, not the bike for me. More like a street fighter thing.
