What Year should I buy and what mods?

After luggage and engine guards I would get a larger adjustable windscreen, Madstad seems to be a good kit that includes a cross bar you can mount GPS, phone mount, etc to. After that a good seat, this of course is subjective, but my Christmas gift to myself this year will be a Russel seat, and...

Lost my second Ram cup holder. Is there a better solution?

I will second a Camelback. Stop every coupe hundred miles, buy a bag of ice, fill with ice, and a big Gatorade. Good to go.

What you did to your Tenere today??!!

Added Tecspec pannier lid protectors. I keep dragging my foot across the top of the bag getting off, hopefully these will help them from getting more scratched. https://techspec-usa.com/products/pannier-guards/yamaha-super-tenere-13-0-side-boxes-snake-skin-pannier-guards.html

What you did to your Tenere today??!!

Took my bike out for a ride yesterday after making some adjustments that I found in the suspension thread. I did the 6 clicks adjustment that Bushyar mentioned in this thread. https://yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?threads/suspension-adjustment.13041/ My front fork compressed 114 MM or 4.5...

What you did to your Tenere today??!!

Yep. Throttle side. Throttle cables seem ok. I have heard about people using heavier BMW bar weights. Any idea which BMW they are sourcing these from?

What you did to your Tenere today??!!

Fitted grip puppies and took it out for a 100ish mile ride. Definitely helped but didn’t solve all the issue of my pinky going numb but it did take it a lot longer for it to happen and it wasn’t as severe. For the cost that was a win. My suspension is all out of sorts though. I found the...

How can I make my Tenere comfortable for distance riding?

I have Givi engine guards with T Rex adjustable Hwy pegs. They are foot forward. It’s not bad once you have made the movement from pegs to Hwy pegs and back enough times to make it muscle memory. It is a bit odd feeling until you get there though. Try just one side at a time until you get a feel...

How can I make my Tenere comfortable for distance riding?

There are already a lot suggestions in here to fix the issues that you have with the bike. If you want a mile muncher go find a used Goldwing or Valkyrie interstate/tourer. Those bikes are about as smooth a ride as you are going to find. Fuel mileage will definitely not be as good as the...

    Clearwater Kristas.

Tapped high beam here. On my 2012 I confirmed it with my multimeter that the pink wire is the high beam wire. It is pink on one side and yellow going out the other side. I tapped it on the yellow side. I picked up an electrical connections “accessory connector” to plug in the required red...

    Factory heated grip plug adapter.

Does anyone sell the adapter that plugs into the 4 prong factory heated grip? I have a set of oxfords that I want to plug into this. Going on a 2012 bike if it matters.

I am 95 percent sure I found the high beam wire. It is under the upper right hand cover, not the side cover. Wire is pink on one side and comes out the other side of the connector yellow. I will probably tap the yellow side once I put a meter on it. I have had the battery disconnected while...

    Clearwater Kristas.

Thank you for the replies on here. I ended up needing to order some extra cables from Clearwater. The thing that makes this a Tenere kit is the mounting bracket. The wiring that comes with it seems to be a standard kit that comes with every bike. You won't be able to get your bike lit up...

That is interesting. I had no idea these bikes had that. I guess you can still use the high beam wire though for the needs I am after. Thank you for clarifying that. :) Is the wire the same yellow wire in all generations? I have found some people say they could be pink.

Thank you for the reply. I will look for that yellow wire and check it a multimeter. 10-4 on the wire recall, that actually makes a lot of sense now.

I mounted them up. Still need to wire them. I think I am going back to mount the dimmer switch on the handle bars and the on/off rocker on the dash infill panel. still not 100 percent sure on the high beam wire. I pulled the cover and mine has some extra wiring from previous owners. One is...

Anyone here running these? I have couple of questions for those that are. 1. High beam wire. What color is this and where did you decide to tap it? 2. Where did you decide to mount the dimmer switch? I have the dash infill panel and was thinking that would be a good spot but not sure how I...

    Mpg.

It really depends on how fast you go. Under 65 MPH mine, a 2012 with factory side and top cases on, will get 45 MPG no problem.
