Anyone here running these?

I have couple of questions for those that are.

1. High beam wire. What color is this and where did you decide to tap it?

2. Where did you decide to mount the dimmer switch? I have the dash infill panel and was thinking that would be a good spot but not sure how I want to mount it to it.

Thank you.

I mounted them up. Still need to wire them.

I think I am going back to mount the dimmer switch on the handle bars and the on/off rocker on the dash infill panel.

still not 100 percent sure on the high beam wire. I
pulled the cover and mine has some extra wiring from previous owners. One is a heated grip, which I plan to remove, another is battery tender.

Anyone recognize these wires?

These don’t look like a factory job.

You have a same Clearwater setup Panman is running.

Wire bundle, top of RH cover under rubber shield, yellow wire is high beam trigger. Used same for my Skene LED dimmer. Wire splices in your last pic look like part of the recall to repair / replace loom to correct no / high idle problem in GEN I Tenere's.

Keep in mind that this bike doesn't have a "high beam" per se. It only has one wattage setting. There is a mechanical/physical device that changes the beam. On "low", there is a metal shield that cuts off the top of the "high" beam. On "high" the metal shield lifts, and allows the entire beam to shine forward.

Thank you for the reply. I will look for that yellow wire and check it a multimeter. 10-4 on the wire recall, that actually makes a lot of sense now.

That is interesting. I had no idea these bikes had that. I guess you can still use the high beam wire though for the needs I am after. Thank you for clarifying that. :)

Is the wire the same yellow wire in all generations? I have found some people say they could be pink.

Thank you for the replies on here. I ended up needing to order some extra cables from Clearwater. The thing that makes this a Tenere kit is the mounting bracket. The wiring that comes with it seems to be a standard kit that comes with every bike. You won't be able to get your bike lit up without some extra cabling so everything will reach.

The "Tenere kit" I found will need and these extra cables:
1. Data Cable, the one supplied that runs into the module is way to short for the dimmer switch. Even with me mounting the dimmer dial on the throttle side handle bar and the module under the right hand cover it's not close to reaching.
2. 2 foot extension wires. I went ahead and ordered a total of 4 of these. Not sure that I need 4, but they are cheap and don't want to wait on these if I need them.

I am going to order an eastern beaver kit. The new PC8 kits he makes seem to be aimed at the ES models and has enough wiring to mount it under the seat, which isn't a bad thing.

I am 95 percent sure I found the high beam wire. It is under the upper right hand cover, not the side cover. Wire is pink on one side and comes out the other side of the connector yellow. I will probably tap the yellow side once I put a meter on it. I have had the battery disconnected while tinkering and plan to hook up tonight and check with meter. Once I find it I will take a picture and post here incase someone else searches later on.

All of my additional wiring stuff should be delivered by Friday. Hopefully I will get my bike back together this weekend so I can get back on the road.

Tapped high beam here. On my 2012 I confirmed it with my multimeter that the pink wire is the high beam wire. It is pink on one side and yellow going out the other side. I tapped it on the yellow side.

I picked up an electrical connections “accessory connector” to plug in the required red switched wire from the lights.

Still waiting on my PC8 which should be here Monday to clean it all up. I hooked them straight to my battery to test and all is good. Very bright lights. I think I am going to run the yellow covers. They seem more visible than the clears.
