I bought the non-ES with the intention of installing an Ohlins rear shock and couldn't be happier. I got the grips for half price by ordering the individual parts as opposed to the kit and never looked back.

Well, I wasn't seeking anyones approval.

I still think the GS is a more refined bike and I prefer the more relaxed ergonomics. I went back to the GS because it is incrementally better in many ways than the ST, but the local dealer retired and sold the dealership to a big box Japanese all-brands retailer. BMW's are expensive to own...

I don't see a 2013 leftover as a fair comparison to a 2016 GS. I sold a 2015 GS and bought a 2015 ST. It was still several thousand dollars difference.

Good news for the owners of Revzilla, bad news for the rest of us.

Just for comparison, I mounted the GPS (the Touratech cradle will work just fine) on a bar mounted techmount.

Mine is always harder to roll in gear with the engine off.

I have the Touratech locking cradle mounted to the crossbar and I am not aware of a brand specific an adapter to raise it further. You may be thinking of this. http://gpsforless.stores.yahoo.net/baseplatei.html

15 non-ES. I'm waiting on my Ohlins to arrive for about the same difference in price.

I installed my tall OEM windscreen, winglets and Zumo 590LM in a Touratech locking mount on the crossbar.

I purchased this setup and will mount it in the next day or two. I am using a handlebar mount from Techmount because I don't care for the reach to the windscreen.

I already own a quart of Mobil 1 75W-90, so I'm going with that. The Liqui-Moly stuff is supposed to be very good as well. In the end, they both meet the spec.
