Yes free (UK only) - indistinguishable from new Bridgestone Battlewing 150/70-17. It seems a shame to just dump it. 01255 818331 Essex

    Torque specs?

It never fails to amaze me how many people know better than the engineers who designed and manufactured the bike. And it isn't just torque wrenches. I've heard the same old same old about just about very aspect of motorcycling. Best example ever was the bar-tender I met in Texas who had only...

    Norfolk/Suffolk Meet

I'm from Clacton, Essex and always game for a run but leave at 8AM from Diss? I'm not sure I want to get up early enough to get to Diss before 8am, even 7am if you include breakfast. How far are you planning to go if you need to start at 8am?

    Aprilia Caponord

I had the opportunity to ride an Aprilia Caponord today. That's their 1200 adventure bike with active suspension. It has a bunch of sensors that check how the suspension is moving and what you are doing (braking, cornering, cruising etc.) and makes suitable adjustments to damping in...

    Givi top box recommendation

Just one caution - whichever box you choose (I have a GIVI with over 100,000 miles on it and no problems) beware that fitting the backrest eats into the passenger seat space. No problem if you are two lightweights but for the rest of us..... I have always moved the topbox mount back a bit to...

    Help for International Trips

Just a few comments on these posts... 1. It is definitely NOT legal to park on any footpath in the UK though you may get away with tucking the bike right out of the way - say under a road overpass - but no guarantees that you won't get a parking ticket. It is not strictly legal in many Euro...

    Large Member from the UK

I'm 6ft3 and ,er, generously proportioned. I found the ST fitted me well and worked equally well two up. I'm on my second Tenere, a 2013, and I reckoned after a few weeks with my first that it was the best all round bike I had ever owned. That's out of dozens and over 500,000 road miles...

    Last ride for a while......

Snap - well 50% anyway. I'm having one done January which hopefully won't interfere with the bulk of my 2015 riding. I'm having a little trouble getting clear answers about riding, specifically mounting/dismounting which is quite a swivel on tall bikes. Most surgeons regard motorcycling as a...

    Power loss after valve adjustment

Typical of valve timing out. If you find it is, check the compression - it is possible to bend valves with wrong timing. NOT the throttle sync - that can be way out and make no difference to high speed, wide throttle openings.

    Cleaning those Gold Header Pipes

Re: Header pipe corrosion The stock headers are definitely not chromed or any other kind of plating. Almost certainly stainless though perhaps of less than ideal quality. All the previous suggestions will/might work but, when you have got them back to acceptable appearance, try spraying them...

Front fork, front tire, or what????

Just a thought... I had a rubbing and interference with the forks turning to full lock together with a rattle and it was because the dealer had removed and re-fitted the horn assembly wrongly at pre delivery service (no idea why - maybe fitting the heated grips?). Looked carefully at that...

Headlight wire harness recall how involved is it?

If Yamaha is prepared to foot the bill, why not let the dealer do it? It doesn't involve any parts that they could screw up badly. I wouldn't let the dealer lay a hand on my brakes or other vitals (too many bad experiences) but I let them do this job and everybody was satisfied - I got the new...

Rider safety, what has shaped your thinking?

52 years and over 500,000 miles in the saddle and never fell off (other than stationary - how embarrassing) or had an accident (did all that in 20 years racing!). Now that's a bit scary if you are superstitious so I asked a long term Police rider "Don't you high mileage guys get worried if you...

    super Ten's in the UK

You're right, they are a bit thin on the ground here in the UK. They were (are?) a bit overpriced and didn't sell well initially which led to dealers not wanting to stock them - Catch 22 situation. Also, Adventure riders are constantly brainwashed by the motorcycle press (the Tenere is rarely...

    Excel throttle stop "SOLD"

Re: Excel throttle stop Have I got this right? This device is primarily designed to overcome the return spring on the standard throttle to remove the "snap shut" pressure and is adjustable from a little effect to effectively locked at a particular setting for cruising. If this is the case...

Cruising with HD (is the S10 a good match for HD groups)

The link is self defeating because there is not one instance where the author quotes his so called "factual" source. He/she is guilty of exactly what they are railing against - quoting facts without anything to back them up. If "recent tests prove" and "studies show", why not quote them...
