Resolved... I place a lot of the error on the main yamaha dealer in phoenix, I called and asked for a replacement relay initially, they were out of stock but they gave me the part number to source it somewhere else. They gave me an alternate relay part #, the correct number is 5JJ-81950-20-00...

I decided against chopping the wire harness just yet and do some wire/ connector testing first What I did was test the neg. at the connector with the battery key off to get me 13.4 V so I know the connector ground is good I then tested all of these 13 wires in four different ways at the relay...

Thank for all the responses, the one issue with trying to find this problem is you need the bike above 221f, so it is a lot of thinking you found it, connecting everything back up, and running it to 221f+, to find out it wasn't that then working around a very hot motor to try the next thing, or...

I would say yes because below 200f I get around 4 volts with the bike running, once it hits 221f+ voltage jumps instantly to around 14 volts, regardless if I use the connector ground or an independent ground or a combined ground The same happened with the old thermosensor too

I just took a secondary ground wire and attached it to the ground from the connector and took that to ground, still no fan, if I detach the ground wire from the fan switch and go directly to ground eliminating the ground wire in the system and creating my own independent ground, still no fan

I've tested power at the + and using the bike as ground, tested it with the connector connected at the end of two wires (I have spare connector) and touching the connector pins where they are plugged in all three get the same result

These are the details 2012, with 103000 miles the bike has never been dropped on the left side, so not bent tested I have power at the connector and it jumps to 13.77 volts when the bike is over 221f like it should to date replaced the fan, even though it wasn't bad replaced the relay no fuses...

did it sell? if not msg me

love your logic but sadly not that simple, mine has been cleaned, removed by bridging the connection, replaced...but still shows code 19!!! I sat down with a Yamaha master tech for a half hour today to pick his brain, and it seems code 19 is a catch all that other codes don't cover, he was...

I had gone thru all the wiring connections after the recall was done to clean and put new dielectric grease on them all and also go thru all the additional wiring on the bike via the eastern beaver. Bike on its center stand, turning on for checks and starting for checks as i went along, zero...

did anyone ever come up with a definitive answer to this code 19 problem? I just had the above recall done hoping that might make it go away, no such luck, and the dealer couldn't figure it out, no surprise there. So a little googling I came across this thread in an R6 forum...

fred you might need to think outside the box on this one...there is a lot of space on the bike that can be used, but there is some differences in certain areas between the non ES and the ES and it is the use of this additional space that is the concern, but if the numbers/ interest is right...
