    Soft Luggage mount advice

Yeah, I guess if I can't find anything available commercially then I may have to make something... I do wonder what everyone else who uses soft panniers does. :/

    Soft Luggage mount advice

Thanks. Yeah, I've tried this but they aren't low enough to stop the bags swinging into the bike. Someone must make racks for soft panniers...

    Soft Luggage mount advice

I have some Enduristan soft panniers which fit nice and close to the bike without any mounts, however they do swing about a bit. So I'm looking for some small mounts or "stand offs" to attach the bags to. The mounts don't need to carry any weight and I don't want the bags sticking out too much...

Brackets / bars for soft luggage

Does anyone know of any simple bars or standoffs to hold soft luggage away from the exhaust without having to buy a hard luggage rack? I'm probably not explaining myself to clearly but I'm hoping you guys know what I mean. Suggestions please and thanks.

    Low Speed with clutch out?

The great thing about the Super Tenere is that it is so much easier to balance at slow speeds due to it's low centre of gravity design. I can ride mine at walking pace (sat down) very easily. Obviously as others have said, good clutch / throttle / brake control is essential.

    UK & European Tyres

Battlewings on mine since new. Just over 6000 miles now and the rear is about 2/3 worn, front about 1/2 worn. I use my bike for touring and commuting, I'm not heavy on the throttle obviously. I'm going to try Conti Trail Attacks when the time comes to change.

Picking up new Tenere tomorrow, anything particular to look for?

Run in as per manual but don't molly coddle it. You need sufficient throttle to seat the rings and lots of throttle shut engine breaking to clear the bores. Use T mode to start with if you are not used to sensitive fuel injected throttles. Other than that, just ride and enjoy. :)

If you had $1200 to spend for Yamaha parts what would you get for your Tenere?

I went with the World Crosser Kit for mine. The carbon fibre side pannels and fork protectors are great. The carbon fibre frame protectors are purely cosmetic as are the stickers obviously. The bash plate looks great but is pretty usless as a bash plate, I replaced mine with a rumbux but cut the...

    This bike is to slow

I agree, the S10's power is ideal for an adventure bike. You don't buy a Land Rover and then complain that it won't do 150mph, a Porche Cayenne probably will but you wouldn't want to take it off road. IMO the OP should px his S10 for a superbike.

I want to hear a debate, Soft bags vs. Hard box/cases...

Got my Monsoon 3 panniers delivered today. They seem to be very well made and look like they could take some punishment. Front straps go around the rear footpeg brackets but I'm not sure how this is going to work on the exhaust side. I'll have a play with them tomorrow and take some pics.
