That’s the conventional wisdom, but I’m sure there are some that consumed all of their resources and went extinct without a natural disaster of any kind.

I would have to say that would happen. But it's not because they were stupid. Nearly all Species break off into a different branch. But the Linage can continue for a very long time. Trilobites went extinct even though they evolved a lot. They were the first to actually see.

. . . . What I DONT want is ant anti-vac zealots preaching to me. It’s my choice and my body and I try to do my best to keep it that way.
Have you noticed that there's plenty of people to tell us how stupid/wrong we are to get vaccinated? But I don't see the reverse. I don't see the vaccinated telling the unvaccinated how stupid/wrong they are. Maybe the unvaccinated are trying to convince themselves, or justify their decision, I don't know. Either way, you're right, it's our choice, and it's their choice. But . . . . if they're over 50 . . . . the odds are against them: 90% of covid deaths were over the age of 50.

I'm O+ and have had just about everything. :( I was surprised to find out why the blood types have the names that they do. O is for original. Thousands of years later came A, and thousands of years after A, came B. Next one will be C. And they were saying that we're getting close to the new type to be coming around. They didn't say what caused the alterations. Probably mating with aliens.
So Elvis is back?

I remember when he used to play Vegas.
Nope, I'm much too young. I thought I was the only one that thought Winona Judd was Elvis's love child with Naomi Judd. Apparently, it's a well know theory.

Forth shot yesterday, or maybe the fifth, can’t remember….. but I don’t recall my arm hurting as much as it does this time…..
Didn‘t think to ask which one I was given though.

I must be lucky I have had no problems. May be its the technique. I have had a lot of blood tests in the last few months aswell. I had one yesterday and did not feel absolutely anything. I complemented the girl who did it.

It definitely makes a difference. I have very easy veins to find. I had one nurse that took several attempts to hit a vein. I was ready to do it myself. Bruised quite badly.

I had three jabs because I was effectively forced to by the government, but I won’t be shoving any more in. The risk from covid is extremely low and the effectiveness of the vaccine questionable. Omicron is much milder than earlier variants and we now know that the vaccine doesn’t prevent infection or transmission. The vaccine was improperly tested and it is unclear whether there are harmful long term effect from it, particularly the cumulative impact. Repeated booster jabs have never been tested on humans. It is worrying that excess deaths since covid far exceed those expected, but nobody seems to care.

It was abundantly clear from the begining the vaccine was to try to prevent people from developing severe syptoms from the virus which would end up with them needing intensive care. The amount of people suffering from Long Covid is also a great concern and we really dont know how high that will rise. Regarding testing the vaccine was developed from knowledge of other vaccines so we were not starting afresh. The Oxford vaccine was essentially a tweeked Ebola vaccine so we had a head start. There is no evidence in the UK that people are dying from being given the vaccine. Or that Long Covid is caused by it. If people dont want to take it thats fine but that decicision is not based on any supported Science its just their belief which is also fine but beliefs that are not backed up by Facts require faith that they are true. I will take Facts over faith any day.

Got the third booster a little over 2 weeks ago and made it to now without catching COVID but just got a positive test result for the Omicron variant after flying on airplanes with hundreds of new close friends for 11+ hours plus hanging in the airports.
Been sleeping a lot the last couple of days, mildly aching all over, chest cough, etc, but overall not doing bad at all and not worried.

The reason for sharing is to say that when I suspected getting the crud I went to the drive-through then came home and did two of the home PCR (quick) tests. The clinic test came back positive and both of the home tests came back negative.

Spoke with my scientist daughter who is involved with all this stuff and her response about the negative results was [literally] "Well Duhhh. Those test kits were never intended for the new variants and COVID changes fast enough they will never be able to keep up."

So what I'm trying to share is that while a positive result will always be positive, do not trust a negative result from one of the home PCR test kits as justification for going to a bar or otherwise out with people for a good time, especially if you've started getting symptoms.

Good advice. Hope you get better soon.
Just a bit of perspective regarding the
" it came from a lab " deal. Its estimated there are a Million Viruses circulating whithin the Animal Kingdom. H5N1 Bird Flu is quite a problem at the moment, it has an R Number of 100 in the Animal Kingdom. This is why there is so much research in this field so leaks from Labs do and will happen. Its a price we have to pay for enjoying meat.
