I have been wondering about flashing the ECU. There has been a story circulating about Gen 1 bikes producing an extra 20bhp after having their ECU flashed and I would assume that this would apply to Gen 2 bikes also. Now I fully understand that Gen 1 bikes can have the restrictions in gears 1, 2 and 3 removed and the fuelling map can be rewritten in both generations to give a quicker, smoother action and also to remove dips in the power and torque curves that are present to get around noise and pollution regulations, but to me, an extra 20 bhp sounds like pure fantasy when you have the same camshafts and pistons in your motor, so my question is does anyone have irrefutable dyno charts that show if there are really 20 bhp being “released” from the SuperTen’s motor?
